Thanks for all the comments and I hear all that's been said. The reason I am funding is due to personal circumstances and I want to help my son with this one thing. He has had a very hard time and is doing/funding most other things.

Ok - I have narrowed it down to the HTC Desire S. I do need to have it capped and as I am on 3 and my daughters too I thought it made sense as they will cap it.

I use quidco so get cash back on 3 of 66.67 for this plan

    3 do it for 25pm with 500min 5000text and 1000mb for 24 months

Ive looked on here and see affordablemobiles do the same 3 deal for

    1) 20pm reduced to 19.58 after cash back on their site (1 month half price line rental by redemtion)
    or
    2) 22pm reduced to 20.33 after cashback (automatic cash back)

Quidco say they will pay 60 for a completed contract handset sale

Help - I feel lost in it all and don't know the best option.
Am I best just to go with 3 as affordablemobiles are unknown to me?

Doesnt say the phones are reconditioned or anything on affordablemobiles but without anyone elses experience I am reluctant to go there.

    Thanks for any advice -

Option 1 at affordablemobiles - even if you dont get the redemption cashback its still £5x24 (-£6.67 if the Quidco pays out) cheaper than going directly with 3. And as long as they manage to set up the contract and deliver the phone, the rest doesn't really matter :)

hi, mobiles.co.uk are doing the HTC desire S for £15.32 per month (24m) 300/300/unlimited data, with T-Mobile but you have to pay £60 for the handset.

    £30 c/back through quidco

i am looking for a new phone and the desire S is top of my list, closely followed by the HTC sensation (not sure if it will feel too big though)
its only a bargain, if you need it or will use it.

The don't go for wildfire comments, guess must have bad experiences I guess. I have one, had it since it came out and love it. Yes it's getting old now so probably wouldn't recommend it, but would recommend any HTC phone. The only thing I would be worried about is the contract length. Would also recommend screen protectors and a case with it. Me and my daughter both have wildfires, neither had problems with the phone, mine has had a case and screen protector, her's hasn't. Happy to say mine still looks like brand new :j
