From the information on the gov.uk website it appears you need separate financial and medical LPA's.
So does this mean that we need to complete four LPA's? Two for each parent?
Yes, unless you do not have any in place yourselves in which case you need to do 8, or 12 if you have partners without them as well0 -
This is interesting as when my mother health POA was being done I expected more discussion than with the finance, but in actual fact it was a little faster. In both cases we were all 3 in such agreement about how we felt about so many things. The money side was easy - do what you need to do to maximise the money available for the care home initially & then the future. The health thing was don't let them keep me when I don't know what's what.
The money side was easy - keep coughing up for glasses & hearing aids. The glasses were easy, the hearing aids not so much. About £2k a year for hearing aids!0 -
Hi
Does anyone know if you can get the LPOA forms in paper format (instead of downloading them from GOV.UK)?
I'm pretty sure we sent off for them when doing it for my family but can't see where you can do that now.
Thanks0 -
Just a point worth mentioning on the Finance P of A form insteuctions to attorneys if the donor has considerable cash savings and attorneys may not be particularly finance savvy. It could be easy for attorneys to collect all the savings together in one account for ease of administration but they should be instructed not to allow holdings to exceed the government's financial compensation rate in case a bank or savings institution goes bust.0

You could try ringing the Office of the Public Guardian
On this link

it says to contact them if you haven't got internet access so it might be that they will send paper forms out0 -

Thanks for pointing that out.
I'm trying to sort it out for a friend at the same time as wrapping my Christmas presents.0 -
Certifying copies oh poa. Got daughter to get a copy of my poa. She copied it from a scanned one and double sided it. The copy is ok but you cannot see very well where it says validated. Does this matter shall I get her to copy from original one. Also if it is double sided do I sign and date on both side of paper. Thanks0

I personally wouldn't risk trying to work with a slightly obscured p of A if only because some institutions can be very finicky about these documents and as they often first have to be presented for the first time at a stressful point of crisis there,s no point in potentially making the situation worse by arguments about whether or not a document is a legitimate copy.
If the document has been reproduced double sided and there is any personal information, signature or instruction on it, yes, you should sign and date.0 -
I am aware of the wording needed on each page of the poa in order to make a certified copy.
My question is can I write the text on my mums poa as long as she signs each page? She will struggle to write on all the pages!0 -
