i personally don't like turkey. i used to like turkey drummers. but after seeing how the staff were treating the birds a little while ago. it made me feel really ill. and since then i have refused to buy bernard matthews stuff.
but how did they turkeys get it anyway ? i thought it passed from infected bird to another. but if there on a farm and not mixing with out side birds then how did they get it .0 -
The question should be. How did they get infected?
They were all kept indoors and away from outside influences.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
they dont really know at the mo........
a few suggestions are..
wild bird got into the shed......
staff stept in wild bird poo and it got in on their wellies...
some are saying that the immune system of the birds were low due to the intense rearing... and maybe gm feed... dont know if the food was gm.. but this is one persons view on telly
wild bird poo contaminated food at source..
i should imagine they will tell us something over the next day or so.... but who's to say it will be the right

They were fairly young turkeys - they could have been contaminated before they got to the farm - it's a possibility (maybe a daft one.. but hey!)0

Someone posted on another forum I use 'At least they were put out of their misery earlier' I suppose reading all that BM get up to it's probably a good point

What worries me is the bbc report that says humans that have caught avian flu have been in intimate contact with infected birds.
What do they mean by that!!:eek:0 -
It means alot of 3rd world familys live with their chickens and even give them mouth to mouth thing when they need it, that intimate contact“Pleasure of love lasts but a moment, pain of love lasts a lifetime.”0

I am concerned that free range poultry may now be ordered to be kept indoors.Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0
