Dear All

I had £1 contract with Vectone mobile. After 1 month has elapsed it seems they have blocked so I will not be able to use my number but it is strange they still take the monthly payment ???

Has anyone experienced the same problem.

I have tried to contact their customer service many times more ten times and often over 20 minutes on the ques, but I have not been to contact them. I also have written email bit it seems that their answer is generic answer typical cut and paste answer ?

Just want to find out what is going on.
Does anyone have the same experience ??
Based on you personal experience, Do you think Vectone Mobile is a reputable company ?

What does this mean? 2 minutes in a queue is not much by any standards. And the number they offer is not expensive.

What kind of answer? Just a confirmation or something different?

My apologies for stating the obvious:
    http://www.vectonemobile.co.uk/support/terms-and-conditions-monthly.aspx
    5. Charges and Payment

...The Allowance Charges will be taken by Direct Debit from the bank account associated with your Account on or around the 15th of each month. Allowance Charges will be charged regardless of whether or not you have used all of your Allowance in the relevant month. You may elect to make a payment by credit or debit card instead of Direct Debit provided this is done prior to the seventh day of the month, Payments by credit or debit card will incur an administration charge of £3 except for interim payments made pursuant to clause 5(d) below.

    Dear Grumbler
Thank you for your time, to direct me to their term of condition, I really appreciate that.

It Is apparently that the payment have to be taken by Direct Debit. Thanks god they state it clearly on their T&C that I could use to fight them back.

TBH it is just £1, £1.50 but take a lot of my energy to reverse it in term of wrting email, correspondences, phone calls, although have tried several times although but not connected.

If you order a SIM card from them, they ask you to provide the Credit card or Debit Card detail, and I did this. Also they have stated clearly that they only do take the first payment by DC or CC and the next payment will be by direct debit.

I just check it in my bank statement, my Visa card has been charged twice on the following date.
    03 Oct VIS VECTONEMOBILE.COM 1.00
    30 Nov VIS VECTONEMOBILE.COM 1.50

So they have broken theirown T&C, as I should be charged using Direct Debit.

In the meanwhile, I just check it they also charge my direct debit in the following month. So they do charge using Recurrent Payment (in my opinion) although they have promised not to do that. I start thinking that Vectone Mobile a dodgy company, similar to gambling/casino site operating their busines.

We have got quite a few evidence from pople from other forum that I refer to my previous post. But we will know more if other people write their experience here.

I was looking for a PAYG provider to replace Virgin who I've been with for donkeys'. Virgin's prices have taken a jump upwards.

Lately, due to the Orange/T-Mobile merger I've noticed that Virgin now has coverage in places it annoyingly did not use to have. I'm impressed. Maybe it will not last if they decommission some masts to save money? I always rated the 3g data coverage as good, and experience travelling around the UK with the missus who is on O2 network via GiffGaff, proved Virgin better and faster at data in general, if there was voice coverage already.

So to Vectone: They also piggyback on the new T-mob/Orange infrastructure and their deal looks attractive...
Until you see the many posts about bad customer service etc although more recently it's gone a bit quiet.

The really key thing for me is topup expiry if you do not use all the credit. The Vectone website is resolutely silent on this topic. Note: I am not talking about expiry due to unused account, but simply, expiry of the top-up balance after, say, X months. Virgin has been excellent on this point in the past.... a relative went abroad and came back years later and the SIM, once fished out of the kitchen draw, still had it's old credit on it and was instantly usable.

Anyone out their know the answer/had recent experience of actually using Vectone as a customer?

If you use the card PAYG credit never expires at any network (unless it is some bundle or a 'goodybag' like at giffgaff).
