Is that for adults or for children too?

After the paragraphs quoted, it then says

"Children must satisfy one of the above tests but, in addition, their care, supervision or watching-over needs must also be greater than those of a child of the same age who is in normal physical and mental health."

All the information is on the factsheet here:

  • The OP's knowledge of benefits appears to vary between threads ...

I'm sensing our old friend is back again!
  • To me I think this is a wind up!
Seems like your trying to rub people on this forums nose in the fact you got SG and others have to struggle so much.
For even a well person life is a struggle in this climate and thank god you only have MH issues to worry about then. There are people who genuinely need help and dont bother applying so they can get a new car!
I also thought MH issues were different from behavioural issues - which I would presume cause you to shout rude things! People with Tourettes aren't classed as having mental health problems. or maybe I am wrong!
I may have lupus but it doesnt make me useless! I am a true believer in Karma, and am a typical cancerian. I have a hard outside, but am mushy on the inside.:o

MH issues and behavioural issues often go hand in hand. Otherwise, I totally agree with you. ;)
  • Sorry didnt realise they did :(
To say that they get aggravated over trivial things in supermarkets etc is a bit silly. I get easily aggravated in supermarkets - by the old woman dawdling in front of me, the person taking ages to pay or pack their bags, or the kids screaming. Dont think I will run home and fill in DLA forms though!
You can tell its a troll with the " I think overall if I go for DLA it would be the hrc element that would best apply and that would easily cover a decent motor vehicle. "
Blooming hell the whole country needs more money nad has had to tighten their belts but to think about claiming DLA becuase it would help me live better - wouldn't it all of us!

You're digging yourself into a bit of a hole here - people get aggravated to different extents, whereas you might get annoyed because of someone doing something annoying, someone with a mental health condition may have a much more extreme reaction - violence, outbursts, self harm etc.

Have you seen the tv show Monk? He has OCD, and needs someone with him when he goes out because he cannot cope with what most people would see as trivial things - bad hygiene, rudeness etc. But if you didn't know he had OCD you'd just think he was weird, a bit ... well, obsessive!

(I do still agree about the trolling! ;) )
  • Sorry I do not put myself across very well at all.
I have seen Monk too. My MIL is also a carer for people who can not go into these kinds of situations without having someone to supervise them. The rings that they have to try and jump through to get these people highest rate dla and other help is beyond belief.
People have advised me in the past to apply for DLA which I don't want to do. But to use the reason to apply for it because they could do with a new car is ridiculous, and truth be know if the troll is a scammer they would probably get it!
