Hi everyone, just dropping in to say hello. :wave:

We now have a new cooker. :j

On the down side, my eating has been all wrong this week so I've not lost any weight but I'm going to ignore all questions of weight until next week in the hope that I have at least not put ON weight.

Jwil, you've been AWOL for a couple of days, hope things are OK with you.

Good luck to all you ebayers, hope stuff sells. I get a lot of watchers who subsequently don't bid - I think a lot of people watch because they want to sell similar stuff themselves - guilty of that myself.

I've been really out of sorts this week But it's the weekend now :T

I'm hoping that my microwave will FINALLY be collected this evening, after being messed around by people :mad: I hate freecycle!

Well done on the listings everyone. Thanks LAM for the news about free listing :T I've got 98 items in my unsold, so shall probably not bother putting anything new on.

I don't know how you guys are getting so much on sb? I'm probably not putting enough effort into it, but it gets exhausting trying to keep up with everything. I've been spending too much time on the computer in the evenings and that makes me grumpy

Woo to the new cooker p&f - I still haven't used my new microwave Maybe I'll give it a go this weekend.

I gave up with freecycle after advertising a large mirror giving both imperial and metric measurements. The first person turned up in a small car with three children, of course it wasn't going to fit. Never mind she said I'll get OH to pick it up tonight if that's ok. He never arrived. I emailed the second person and she didn't bother to turn up. :mad:

That's the problem when it's free they think they are doing you a favour.

Enough of my moaning. Hope you get rid of it soon.

I love the concept of it, but hate the reality. As with so many things it's spoilt by the action of the minority. It's a week now I've been messed around. I even told this person not to bother, but they begged and as I wasn't getting a response from others, I gave them another chance. :mad:

We're going to take it down the boot sale on Sunday now. it will go like a flash there!

I've always had very lovely Freecycle people and there's never been a time when someone has failed to communicate or failed to turn up. I must admit that when choosing a recipient I tend to be rather picky and any emails I don't like the sound of, I rule those people out straight away. If people are not polite or enthusiastic about the item, they can take a hike.

I have once or twice offered something in response to a WANTED ad and those people have not responded, so I ignore WANTEDs now, except to giggle at the often preposterous requests. Recently, someone posted 'WANTED: Brown leather sofa and footstool, must be in good condition'. I felt like replying 'Yeah, try John Lewis'.

Must be so frustrating to be constantly let down - damn cheek when you are generously doing people a favour! :mad::mad::mad:

I did exactly that - I had a number of requests and immediately got rid of the ones that weren't polite. The person I offered it to was apparently very keen for it as theirs had just broken and used it for their baby stuff. Apparently they weren't that desperate. :mad: The other person I offered to gave me a number of ways to get in touch but didn't respond to any of them.

I've given stuff away on there before and had good experiences, but I've been messed around before, and others I know have bad experiences too.

It does irritate me about the wanteds too. Especially when it's like that, where they are looking for something very specific and in good condition! There are quite often car/motorbike requests on ours - 'must have MOT and be roadworthy' etc.

Not sure what I'm up to today, I have dug a few things out which I may list on ebay. We are thinking about doing a boot sale this weekend too. I did put another box of books out this week too, so that's all good.

You sound in great form. Its a lovely day here and I hope its the same where you are:) I have hung clothes out on line already. Hopefully some delightful farmer will not decide to spread **** until my clothes dry.:)

I might list a few things today or I might not. Being rebellious Jwil. Ebay constant is hard work sometimes.
