Thanks everyone - did feel a bit embarassed about the bad feedback but considering how few a number of people it is and i've found the items - i think people just like to moan sometimes though
i never try and make money on p&p which is whats annoying i always just try and cover the postage and packing costs so i'm not out of pocket. hey ho - i'm only fractionally over so hope i can sort it quickly
Genius advice jwil - i think sometimes we are all so bogged down with stuff that its hard to see things like free posting which will definitely help

That's why I started offering free postage, I figured no one could complain about what I decided to charge. I never made money on postage either, but people just always think it's too much. I think it's improved my sales too."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Thanks again jwil - i'll get a few things on later and include postage in the start price of the item and offer free listing. lets hope this gives me a much needed boost
Are you carbooting this weekemd hon ?
I *am* but am also looking dubiously at the dark clouds which are gathering outside *yikes!*
Must also get up and do some cleaning at some point today - but just not nowThe place is still in such a state that it is de-motivating - but i know as it won't clean itself! plus got a bit of hand washing that i've got to get on with - it never ends does it ?
Now had someone pay for 1 of the items i'd sold but post place closed now so will be posted and cost me money as they've paid so lateOther non paying is still outstanding. Oh well nowt i can do about any of these things now.

No car booting for us this weekend, the weather tomorrow is due to be horrible. It's too wet today as well.
You could always use paypal postage or Royal Mail online and print it at home? You've paid in advance then so it should go through fine. Or buy a book of stamps, so you can just put the stamps on the parcel to the value of the new postage on Monday.
It is never ending with the cleaning, so I just don't bother"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Well we've been busy bees today. We've sorted a load more stuff which is off to auction. I'll count them as decluttered, but separately as they are not gone yet.
I've also listed another 34 items on ebay :T I'm not sure how they will sell, but will give them a go."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

You have done loads jwil that is fab! :j - i *have* done a very small amount of cleaning and am just cooking some meat that i couldn't fit in my freezer along with everything else
Still ideal for sarnies and for 99p i'm happy
Sorry if i'm being dim but whats ECA ?
Has anyone seen any decent cashback offers of late - i've done nothing since changing energy supplier ?
Ah yes i thought of the stamps so will perhaps do it that way instead though it is pesky!CC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -

Some cleaning is always plenty. Woo to nice reduced meat though!
ECA is End of Course Assessment - it's the final assessment for the :money: course.
I haven't looked at cashback recently, I rarely do unless I need something. I probably ought to really"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

Ha ha, love your approach to cleaning. :rotfl:
The weather is going to be terrible tomorrow 'round 'ere - it is already wild out there - high winds & rain. So there is absolutely NO EXCUSE for me not to do the ebay stuff that is looking at me accusingly. Tomorrow it shall be done or else.
I have three things on my to-do list, the ebay stuff is one, doing some work on a new website is another and cleaning the bathrooms is the third.
When I win the lottery, I'm getting a cleaner in.0 -
That's frustrating DDFW. Try offering free postage for a while and add it into your starting costs. I do that with most of my items and still sell well - sometimes things even go for more as people get carried away.
You automatically get 5 stars if you offer free postage and you get placed higher in the search rankings so you should be able to get your percentages up quicker.
De-Lurking to say i've tried this on some stuff that had loads of watchers last week but didn't sell ...re-listed last night after reading this with free p&p and bumped up starting price a littlehoping it sells this week now! Thanks for tip
