As usual I manage to get on here just in time to say 'goodnight'.
Such a busy time at the drop-in last night. One poor chap arrived with soaking wet feet because his trainers are completely worn out with holes in the soles. I know that there are bin bags full of clothes that have come in but not been sorted so I spent this morning unpacking and putting away loads of clothes. I found a decent pair of trainers only half a size too small which I think might do.
It really amazes me the sort of thing that people deem suitable for a young person living on the streets. I unpacked a full dinner suit!
We had 30 in last night. Oh dear, I really want to take them all home and look after them.:(
What with the bin bag saga and a couple of visitors who just popped in for a couple of hours, I got absolutely nothing on my 'to-do' list done.
As to OS, well we don't have time to eat and Christmas is still a distant threat on the horizon. Oh, and today was our day off!:D
Many happy returns to those who aged a year today.
Lots of love and hugs to those who are suffering. LW, you sound as though you are in a bad way, do take care and don't try to do too much. That goes for all of you who are struggling.
FMW: can't help much with the London Home fantasy but can always fix you up with a tent and a sleeping bag if it helps!:rotfl:
Uolypool: I know where I'd like to shove a few baubles!
The wind it is a-howling so we're probably in for a rough night.
If I work in the soup kitchen, carol in the nursing home, and give all that I have to charity, but do not have compassion in my heart for those in need, I am just another social service.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Hello everybody,
Very cold to-day here, rain and wind too.
Knitting group this morning, we are changing to Wed mornings from January as library will be closed on Mondays, then met friend for lunch, collected DGS from school and home at 3 to prepare dinner, which was easy as there was beef left over from yesterday, some veg, so just had to cook potatoes.
Panettone recipe did not turn out well....not sure if my yeast was active enough...cake is edible but very dry so disappointed with that.
Books ordered for delivery to DGDs in London, will post parcel with rest of their presents to-morrow....if I get them wrapped to-night.
Hope that its been a good day Topsy and Mr Mummysaver.
LW...hope that your meds kick in soon, you sound so ill...
No tree up here yet....reckon next weekend is time enough, we always have a real tree and am scared thinking of what they will cost this year....must get OH to check the lights as he normally leaves it until tree is up and then turns the air all the colours of the rainbow if they won't work....and that's when it all becomes my fault. Kerry and Mossy helped themselves to a few of the baubles when the box was left on the floor one night, so hope that we have enough.
Bramble....really had to laugh at Pup's antics....he likes chicken then? Mossy would help himself to anything left round, he even has a go at raw potatoes if he can get them.
Going to wear my boots around the house for the next few days as they are not particularly comfortable....have had them for 2 years and hardly wore them at all last year, wore trainers in the snow as found them best...paid almost €100 for b**ody boots so am determined to knock them into shape, they are correct size, allegedly wide fitting.
JackieG...glad that OH is around this week, its hard being strong on your own.
Lou...don't let the awful weather get to you.
Hugs to anyone in need or one or more...plenty to go round.
Sleep well everyone, stay safe.

Evening all
And happy birthday to our birthday people...
And congratulations to our lotto winner.
Another nsd for me today - things are getting a little tighter towards payday but I'm plodding on. Have a couple of planned spends tomorrow but determined to stay in control. I finally got round to writing out just over half of my Christmas cards.
Made dinner and we all sat down as a family to eat, which rarely happens.
Contacted student loans and found I'm lots closer to paying that off than I could have hoped so I'm quite excited about that.Ninja Saving Turtle0 -

Evening all!
Happy birthdays, hugs and felicitations to all!
Hectic 3 days at work very tired, almost nodding off on the drive home, not good especially as it was blowing a hoolie crossing the Fenwick Moor on the motorway!
Tomorrow [STRIKE]will[/STRIKE] must do the christmas shopping, write and post cards and get the tree up!
Having a glass of wine and then off to bed, OH snoring like a hog on the couch, he can carry on as he's in the usual festive grump!!!
Night all!RIP Iain
