Luckily the railway sleepers were there already when we bought the house; I wouldn't have the first clue where to get these things! What other decs have you got other than a tree? Our house is looking rather bare even though the tree is up, we've not really got a clue what else to have! (though I do have a little metal robin that we *ahem* acquired on a work night out who is just the sweetest thing ever)

you did it. you moved without telling me.
now I have 3 whole pages to catch up on. That's the last time I let DH take the laptop to work leaving me without internet all day.

Thank you soo much everyone for all your advice...you are right, heading for the t'internet could well be the way to go re: selling my stuff. It is too late to get things set up in time before Christmas...I am already doing too much atm!! I will investigate over the next two weeks and get things set up in the New Year...my Christmas stuff can wait until next Autumn...or I could have a January Sale!!!
I have a few bits and pieces that are edible, so have a shelf life, but I can see the family and friends getting loads again!
Didn't do a stock-take yesterday, just ran out of steam. Will do it today, and then start taking pictures. Will be good practice for the web-shop! I am on a couple of sewing and crafting MSE threads, so there are loads of folk to ask for advice.
Itsadogslife, we have a few WIs about here...thought I might investigate a stall at their weekly market, but need to accrue a bigger range of stuff. There is someone selling similar things that I make, but they are all pastelly and not bright and cheerful, so perhaps that's an area to investigate. I just need to start developing my own style and invent my own products...something that would sell this time!
So sorry Pippi, seem to be posting lots of long posts here...I should definitely get my own thread...another new project...crumbs!!
Glad to see you are busy beavering away, you're right, Orkney's a good place to get slow food up and running (or walking!), as there are still loads of lovely independent shops and suppliers. Also lots of folk still are wary of the supermarkets...my mum's cousins still try to source most of their food away from the supermarkets...if they can.
Chris Evans played "Underground Overground" this morning and Ken Bruce recently had "Santa's a Scotsman", so all's right with the world!
Right, need to get off here, spent far too long on computer yesterday. Need to get things done today!
Have a lovely day everyone, hope no-one suffered any damage in last'night's wind and rain...what a night!!

ooh Keiss thank you. Chocolate and beetroot brownies yum. They sound delicious.
Sorry you didn't do very well at the fair.
All okay here. Managed to miss the hail this morning on the school run. It stopped just before we left which was good. I still made DD wear jeans over her tights though and put her school dress on her when we got to school so that she wouldn't spend the day in wet clothes. She never wears trousers and jeans have always been a no no (leggings under a dress are acceptable though) so for me to actually convince her to wear them this morning was a big thing. She has very definate ideas and dress sense which I find strange for a 4yo but there you go. She's very strong willed and knows what she likes and what she doesn't.
Pippi - you see now the chellist has mentioned boot shopping it's her idea now not mummy's!! :rotfl: you just need to plant the idea in her head, let her get wet feet a couple of time and ta da "mum I think I could do with some boots for the winter" then the proper mummy reply is "oh well if you think so" :rotfl:Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Pippi. Slow food sounds ace. Would love to be involved in something like that. I tried googling but as per usual, nothing like that in my area.
I didn't bring the fish box home with me, I left it for some other more appreciating soul. I did, however take a photo of it.Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. I'm back on the sofa, went into work but felt tired and rubbish again, so came home again and am now snuggled on the sofa under a duvet.
starnac - I've got a couple of dozen fairy cakes in the car, didn't make it to French lesson todayso the poor children don't have their end of term goodies, but at least I didn't go and pass on whatever this bug is.

KK sorry to hear you are poorly. Hope you feel better soon. On the upside though if you pass me your keys I will retrieve the abandoned cakes and "dispose" of them for youGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000

Hi all
Hugs to those feeling poorly.
Max is so much better you really wouldn't know she'd had a stroke. Mind you I feel awful as I probably almost gave her a heart attack the other morning. She's taken to lying at the bottom of the stairs which never used to be a favourite place. Anyway, I came up here and stripped the bed and without thinking chucked the bedding downstairs (the stairs are steep and I'm to wobbly to carry stuff up and down). I glanced down to see my bedding seeming to slink off across the Lounge on it's own . It had landed on the poor dog:eek::eek::eek:
She seemed none the worse for being caught by low flying bedding:j
but I won't have to do that again:o0
