Is my name on a blacklist? :(

i i have read how to search threads etc i don't find it the same. changes like posting advents in main thread rather than just keeping them separate makes comping a chore. i wish you loads of luck and am very grateful to those who post competitions and orgnise the site but must admit i am thinking of giving it up as a bad job!!
I do find the advents on the main board a bit of a pain, but they'll all be gone in a couple of weeks!
And although the 'end date' and other buttons have gone, you can achieve the same result using the 'display options' at the bottom of the page - yes, it's 3 clicks instead of 1, but it's not so bad! In fact, you can just sort by title, at the top of the list of threads (press it twice if you want it in the opposite order), for the same effect.0 -
I haven't won anything yet but not giving up hope!! I will keep comping as long as I canYou'll have to speak up; I'm wearing a towel0

I don't think there is a blacklist its just a random draw. Like you, a few years ago I would win something most weeks , now wins are fewer and further between, but still possible.
Things have changed and there are now thousands more compers chasing every prize. Sites like this and others are hugely popular. I genuinely feel for those who are trying to supplement incomes, it must be very disappointing. Although some are still very lucky so there is hope out there.
It's no where near as lucrative for me as it used to be but I enjoy it so I carry on.
If you enjoy it then keep going its still a great hobbyMany thanks to the wonderful staff at Birmingham Childrens Hospital caring for my tiny and very poorly grandson who was born at 29 weeks. Thanks to them he is getting a little stronger every day.:A:A:A0 -
Like a lot on here I have done a lot less comps now than I used to do as wins are a lot less, there was a time when every week postman would deliver something now its more like once a month, the only thing that keeps me going are the big competitions that I may win as I won a trip to Australia last year to go and see the ashes and didnt care if I won another thing after that for a while as I was on such a high.
now I am not entering as many but am entering all the big ones so dont really enter for tickets or DVDs/ books etc..
ps a week off every now and then is good as you can get refreshedBlessed on 18th February 2014 at 0814 with little Sarah xxx0 -
So it seems its not just me then. Hopefully new year, new lot of luck for us all

Just keep plugging away.I just see it as a hobby with benefits.Plus on any comp on the main board entry is free & the odds are a lot better tha the lotto, even on the ITV & Daybreak comps.
In the last few years a lot more comping portals have sprung up so many more people are chasing the prizes.I'd say the recession is a big driver as well.
Re a blacklist I think it's pure fantasy & just luck.
Good luck for later :-)0 -
I don't think there is a blacklist as such but I won a £25 Pizza Express voucher with Capital Radio and this barred from from winning anything from them for 6 months.
I had won earlier in the year with Capital and at that time I couldn't win anything over a prize limit of £500 for 6 months.
I'm not sure if they actually bar you but if other companies are starting to follow suit then it may explain things but you should be told at the time of winning and how long the bar lasts.0 -
Some companies only let you win once a year/once 6 months/month etc but they usually say in the terms about it, wasn't aware capital did that so I wont expect anything for a while there then lol.
To be honest with people not having much money ALOT more people enter competitions, there are thousand if not hundreds and thousands more people entering than when I started and I used to win loads, been very dry the last few months but had some great wins so I can't complain. Keep at it and hope the newbies get bored quickComping wishlist for 2017

Hi teresa,
I think part of the problem is going to be that now Facebook and Twitter have consumed a lot of the competitions market, there are a lot more people entering, so your chances of winning will be lower. Just keep doing it as long as it's fun and hopefully you'll get some wins
I stop entering whenever it feels like a choreand then come back when I miss it!
Other than that...just luck of the draw!

At least you've won some things, more than some of us
It's just a mix of more people and luck, I think.
