For those who dont know me, hello! Ive been here for donkeys years...even earlier than my start date as changed my ID when realised that people could tell who I was from the last one! last one here:

Anyhoo...its been a bumpy ride to say the least. A potted summary would be; LBM (LIght bulb moment..as in oh S++++ I owe 37,000. How did that happen?) being "good", slippage, another lbm, slippage, normality of up and down of debtbusting and then had a whole year of hell while I waited for a work issue to be resolved...all the while struggling with money, got a lodger (two actually..one then another and now my mother lives with me!) fresh start in work and been rebuilding my life since then.
I am a very different person to the one who began all those years ago; I still love shopping and I suspect always will. Having said that I am finding ways to occupy and enjoy life in different ways; I have had counselling which was worth every penny and examined the bits of me that needed work and I come out of it less fearful, angry and more assertive person than I was. Most of all I am happier, no longer suffer with depression (although this is something I suspect I always have and will battle with) and like the person I am now.
Its been a tough old road and I have made some difficult decisions along the way. With that all sorted I'm hoping that the next year will be more productive in the debt-busting department and look forward to seeing the back of my cc's once and for all! Having said that i have been loved and supported by many for which I will be eternally thankful...
So, here I go cautiously venturing into the next chapter of my life...look forward to chatting with the old folk and getting to know the new...

When you are in it for the long haul, as we are, there have to be continual adjustments - life changes, we change, the goalposts change, blah blah blah.
It doesn't always go smoothly for one reason or another, but the main thing is that you have the ability to recognise that things need to change, and you can make those changes over time.
You'll get there

Hi ISOM, a new shiny diary, looking forward to hearing about the next chapter of your journey.
How much have you managed to clear since your LBM? (Please do tell me to bu**er off if that is too nosey
:D) Just keep swimming!0 -
Its fine to ask itsadogs life but I honestly have no idea!! my loans take care of themselves and the cc's fluctuate...suffice to say that there has been no progress on the cc's in the last year and they went up! Have set myself 7000 challenge this year (including loans) and feel positive about it. Whats done is done and its time to move on...As hypno says this long haul has ups and down and this was a definate down but in many ways but like most valuable lessons worth the agony and its good to feel positive and reinvogorated.Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1!
