Finally ! :j a saving - I ordered my daughters birthday present from Hollister even though the delivery charge was £10 as that was cheaper than paying for the train fare to Birmingham.......they haven't charged me it ! so that is £10 for the pot :T0

Good luck elly x
Been busy at work this week, and very stressed, working all weekend too, but can't wait for my day off a week tomorrowTaken extra hours too so hopefully should have an extra £100 a month, which I am going to put into saving account. Should go against debts but we need a rainy day fund in case of redundancy etc, once I have £3,000 in there I will happy. Right off to try and ebay some bits and peices now, otherwise I won't have any money for when the car boot season starts again

Hi elly
The extra hours put me into the paying tax bracket  so I am doing another 5.5 hours a week x £6.08 (min wage:mad:) £33.44 a week but over a year is £144 a month, then take tax off it. No extra money for working Saturdays either, but it's a job and it's local, and more to throw at debts. I have been asked back to sessional teaching but still only offering 1-2 sessions a week for around 20-25 weeks of the year which I can't live on. So looking out for something that is main job 3 days then pick up teaching for another day a week. Oh and this job includes working 4 bank hols too..........
OK peeps I have about 12 boxes of ebay stuff to put into my ebay shop but can't get motivated can someone pleeese give me a kick up the rear end or shout at me? Thanks x8 years of being on a DMP finished 3/3/140 -
Hi all
Your all doing so well still.
I have been very busy run my usual kids group this morning so been planning for that but that will be some extra money in the pot for me when i get paid.
Basically i run a kids group for a local company every 3rd sat of the month and play games, do a craft etc and get paid £40 each time. I love it and love that i can fit it in round uni
Hope everyone is having a great weekend.
Off to go add up my total so far and then try and do my signature lol

Hi! I would like to belatedly join in if I can. I'm aiming for £3000. We've never had savings before and it's my aim that by this time next year we'll have about £3K as a safety net. TBH the start of this year hasn't been ideal as I fell ill and unexpectedly had to have surgery. I've not returned to work after the Christmas break yet and I only get SSP, so I've got to keep running just to stay in the same place, for a little while at least.
I have a little Etsy store I'd like to work harder on, plus I'd like to try matched betting. But I've also spent my sick leave reading The Tightwad Gazette so I'm hoping that little bits of saving here and there might add up!
Anyway hi and good luck everyone!0 -
Evening all,
Ebay money cleared, about £150 which is nice - also got my other "treasures" ending tomorrow, up to £22.25, which is excellent (may even cover the postage!!) Asde from that had a win on Ladbrokes free fiver promotion (pretty sure it is risk free but any winnings have to be wagered x10 so need to be lucky to get anything to withdraw!) Also a letter saying I overpayed NI from 2004 -2006 so am getting a refund of £281 - woop! Will count it when it arrives(and it has made up for being charged tax for no good reason)
ooooo the Tightwad gazette sounds right up my street - may have a look out for that! Good luck with all your other money making endeavours!!DFW Nerd #1310
