maybe just drink a little less  - I can get pretty happy on just 1 or 2 glasses of wine and soda these days and hardly any ill effects next day. Only prob is its quite wasteful of wine as never seem to finish a bottle before it goes off :o.lol
Can't imagine what state I'd be in if I drank the bottles of red wine and pints of Guiness that I used to consume :D

  • Good Day all - well Elly you have both ruined and made my day!!!

did some mending earlier - was very proud as although not strictly money making it is definitely money saving in the long run! I then decided to get on with my challenges - filled a box for charity (inc an unwanted gift or two) and went around collecting things for Ebay (inc an unwanted gift!) I only had about 15 items and normally would have thought that was plenty but didn't want to fail the challenge! So I tackled... the husbands electrical drawer... and when I say drawer, it is a massive drawer in a massive chest...

He seems to love collecting wires (and old remotes! (which I put in the rubbish pile - but may take them out again as I just had a quick look on ebay and they do seem to sell)) After me coming in and out a few times asking "what about this?" he finally got up and came to help me :D and we sorted through, binned a load, added some to the charity shop box, put some aside for ebay and organised what is there - yippee!!!!

I have therefore listed 34 items today, it took far too long as ever but I am very pleased it is done (and even more pleased that the dreaded drawer has been sorted out!) There are a couple of things that should give some decent money and various other items that I would be happy to get £1 for! I also managed a couple of bets inbetween to keep today's total ticking and give me a profit of £39.63 :)

So yeay - thanks Elly and thread for the challenge and motivation :money:

  • Thank you Elly & Cheltenhamgal for the suggestions, I'll look into them all next week. Have been very busy and managed to list 79 free items on ebay this weekend and also another 44 free 99p start items too so far in January. Have used zapper for the first time and getting £17 odd for 25 items, that were just sat gathering dust. Not bad going with 2 little ones to keep amused. Lets just hope we all get lots of bids now!!

Sold my old phone on eBay yesterday for £101 :) Have put a few more items on (although didn't manage 20 because my camera battery ran out) including my ipod nano.

I've also joined read it swap it to get rid of some of my old books that will make nothing on eBay etc. :)
  • Didn't really do much this weekend as DS turned 11 and it cost me more than I made all weekend so I've written that off! I did over 100 items on zapper but it only liked 29 of them, the rest have gone in my job lot of boot sale stuff I have listed on FB which will be getting sent to charity if i can't shift it by the weekend! I have got loads of tidying up done today and found another 11 things to sell on FB and am waiting for buyers to come and collect some stuff later then that can go on my total.

@Elly, if zapper doesn't like them it might be worth trying another site as musicmagpie did not like mine and zapper loved them and gave me £18 just now! I just need to get them to the PO when I do the school run.
  • ok,so I have managed to get myself kicked off ebay with a limited access also slapped onto my paypal account - I think I was selling too much, too quick. Dealt with a very sarcastic man on the phone who was although sympathetic, wasnt much help! :( So,Im £600 down thanks to paypal. Im gutted as it was almost half of the money I was going to use to move and now I cant!

On a brighter note, I have applied for a job I have been waiting to come up since July so fingers crossed!

Well, I have set myself a hopefully attainable target of £2,012, thanks for posting the challenge! :)

So far I have added £74.60, £50 that I was given at Christmas and didn't spend (yay!) and the rest from cutbacks e.g. not going out for lunch at the weekend.

Also 3 extra ms jobs done at home will be an extra £18.50 when I get paid...every little helps :j Might have a look at Zapper (never heard of that one before, thanks) later too. :)

Also been looking at savings accounts, the N&P Building Society pay 5% if you have kids under 18 and leave the money in for a year. :T
