i offered the buyer a refund but he's really keen on the item.
now, buyer called me pathetic & childish and theatening to leave not so nice comments and has emphasized (as always) that is has been paid and address is just not complete.

AS per macfly's earlier question' how different is the address?
If it really is just the case of adding a house number or name then that's fine as a POP only really needs a post code and basic details.
You are now running the risk of losing seller protection anyway as it must be posted within 7 days of payment. Ebay are unlikely to do anything here unless the address is actually wrong or non existent in which case you could 'try' and get them suspended for false contact detauils- unlikely but potentially possible.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. even though its an uncomplete address, i hesitated as buyer has a low score of 4. i have contacted the buyer several times urging to change/update the registered paypal address. i also contacted ebay twice and was advised to post it as registered which will cost much more postage which buyer doesnt want shoulder or refund the item which i offered. why the buyer refused to update registered paypal address is beyond me as surely, i will not be the only questioning about it.i wish i have live my life a little bit off the book, took a chance and gamble :whistle:0 -

You are doing things properly and the buyer is being a pain. You can report this buyer to ebay for harassment if they are making threats which appears they are. Paypal is part of ebay, they make up the rules, you are following them, the buyer isnt. I would def contact ebay about this but send an email and I would also refund the money because this doesnt look liike having a happy ending. They could still neg you even if you do send! Dont forget to add this buyer to your blocked bidder because some people do like to hold a grudge.....
Good luck and finally to avoid a repetition think about adding a rider at the bottom of any and all future listings ie "All items paid for with Paypal must go to buyers address registered on paypal website - Paypal rule, not mine!"0 -

thanks tightwasdman.
i know i am just following the policy... now buyer has refused a refund and said he has now (last night) change his address but when i checked on paypal, the address still remains the same. i am now thinking there's something wrong... not because buyer has score of 4 but the ridiculous amount of time we spent exchanging messages. clearly,it took him longer to send me messages than him changing his address.
what is the best way of contacting ebay? is email better?i wish i have live my life a little bit off the book, took a chance and gamble :whistle:0 -

Firstly, you don't seem happy at confirming how different the address is, it would be useful to know if we are talking about merely adding a house number or something, or whether the entire lot is different including post code.
Secondly, buyer is correct, even if they change their address it doesn't change the address that shows on your paypal transaction- it cannot change retrospectively . Think about it logically, otherwise every scammer would have the item sent to his address and then merely change the paypal address after it was shipped to show a different one. If he has changed the address now then it will only show up for future payments.
Therefore if you won't ship it to the address showing in your paypal you can only refund- there is nothing else here you can do. There is no point at all in holding onto this money - and I suspect that this buyer is going to hammer your feedback and stars for not refunding and not sending in a better timeframe.
You have also mentioned a couple of times about following policy- but you have also said that this itme is not going tracked- so I worry that you have misunderstood exactly what you are attempting to protect yourself against which is why I put the postage link up. To be clear here, if you refund and then buyer actually repays (and there is nothing you can do to make him) and you ship it untracked and buyer claims INR you will lose- regardless of what paypal address shows. If you don't refund then on day 7 buyer cna open a full paypal chargeback on you and that affects your seller dashboard even ebfore you get hit with poor feedback and stars.
All you are protecting yourself against is a later claim for fraudulent use of a card as all you need then is proof of postage.
You are in a difficult position now and must get out of it as best you can- so if address is materially different just refund and grovel a bit to buyer and ask them to repay. If the address is not materially different, just send the item, the POP tends to only have basic info on it anyway.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. soolin, as mentioned in my original post, registered address has no house number and buyer wanted me to post to specific house number.
i am willing to refund his money but he refused and i am also willing to post it to the address that he wanted but he refused to pay the additional cost for registered parcel. does it mean i have to shoulder that extra cost? (will cost more than double of he paid for postage). when i said, i think thought there is something wrong cos he refused to compromised and with his low score i am in doubt. now, im thinking, in the spirit of christmas i will send this to the address that he wanted but is afraid of negative feedback that i will get from him.i wish i have live my life a little bit off the book, took a chance and gamble :whistle:0
