  • i had a delivery a few night ago around 8pm i was outside getting some stuff out the car and this car came speeding down the road doing around 70-80mph (it a normal street so 30mph) and almost took the front off my car as it parked. the guy stunk of cannabis and i think might of been drinking as he couldnt speak properly (if he has a disability i am sorry for this statement) . my box was bashed up lucky all i had was gift bags. i wish companies would check their drivers and i find yodel the worst for driver being drunk on drugs or just plain rude.

We trialled Yodel where I work. (we being a company that sends several thousand packages a month), the reason being they are dirt cheap.

They are terrible on every level. Customer complaints were high. Our customer service staff found it nigh on impossible to get through to them on the phone, so goodness only knows how frustrating it would be for our end users.

Our account manager went AWOL on a regular basis. And their technical staff (for the software integration etc) were also very slow and we often heard things like "in 2 months we'll be losing the licensing rights to this software, we're planning to write our own though".

In the end, we said no to them and they came back with an even lower rate but the damage had been done as it were.

They did admit problems and there was talk they were investing either in another call centre, or at least more staff, but it was much too little, too late for us to consider them.

So we stuck with Interlink Express (DPD) and were able to use the Yodel rate as a bit of leverage to get their price down further. Have previously used City Link, ANC and Fedex as well. We've never tried TNT as their prices have always been extortionate by comparison. We've found Interlink by far the best in terms of service versus value.
You should try https://www.UKMail.biz, they are good and pretty cheap

My knowledge of UKMail and it is only secondary is that they aren't too careful with the packages and not keen to pay on claims on broken goods.

  • You see, I never have that problem, I think that customer services departments up and down the country have my number and tremble on their boots when they see my number on their phone, I've never had a company who should pay out not pay out, some are more of a battle than others tho.
  • Useless company... Evil company. I was sat in their offices for 90 mins yesterday, and overheard staff discussing how they weren't getting their redundancy payout, as the company was going into voluntary liquidation to avoid redundancy payments whilst they closed a series of branches nationwide...... Wait, yep you heard me, the company that is failing between 10-20,000 deliveries per depot per day is closing depots, to help streamline the business...... Streamline it, its like a size 0 model, it needs more staff and more space, not less......

I am not sure if i believe this or not as half of the network are Franchise's.

what i will say is there are some very good people working there and i feel sorry for them if this is true.

the company has the facility to succeed but for some reasons it doesn't

I wondered about that too, but I have heard it from a few sources and a couple of those were Yodel drivers.
