Their mistake. Don't see what they can do about it personally.

Clearly, as the NV-U50 was out of stock they excercised their option to provide you with an alternative product at no additional cost to you...

Just had JL on the phone again (Call lasted 40mins). Wanting £80 back or the item back in new unopened condition.

In the end they offered it for the same price as I had paid for the Sony thus wanting to take £30 from my card which they had already offered for compensation due to late delivery/wrong item being delivered.

Considering all the hasstle - late delivery which meant two days off work at home waiting in for delivery, wrong item being delivered, an hour wasted on the phone on Saturday when I was told that they would refund £30 and I could keep the TT1. Another hour in total of my time wasted on Monday on the phone to a JL Customer Relations Mangler who asked if I was taping the conversation LOL! and another 40mins today to a Senior Customers Relations Manger.

I wonder if anyone else who got a TT1 will get chased for this? Seems highly unlikely as they don't seem to know their bottom from their elbow and probably haven't a clue who was sent what....

Would of expected better from John Lewis but we live and learn.

my mistake they obviously do have a way to find out who was sent what. I suggest anyone who speaks to them tells them they received the Sony as per the invoice.

AFAIK, only that bloke on pocketgpsworld who you and I have now both asked for more info :) Don't see why it can't be done, it's just a PDA under the skin after all. I'm sure I have a copy of TT 5 somewhere....might have a try myself later.

Except, we did a journey yesterday with the Sony U50 and the thing was faultless. The same trip sent an Evesham 6200 bonkers when we had that late last year. My Sony map file is dated 08/2006 and is 207MB. So TT installation might be little more than an unnecessary intellectual exercise. "If it 'aint broke..." etc.

Speedcameras can be added via the "POI Observer" method. No need to tinker with TomTom. See the active thread by "Dippy" on the above site (about the U70T but equally applies to the U50).

Was tinkering with mine and noiticed two things:

    1) I can't work out how to input 7-digit postcodes even though I was doing it merrily the other day.

    2) It not only has UK & Republic of Ireland maps but also Belgium and France.

So am I the only one with France & Belgium built into mine ?

And how can I do 7-digit postcodes on this ?
