Well you lot certainly know how to talk :rotfl:
Good evening everyone, not had time to post much recently as house is in chaos and loads of pressies still to wrap, just taking a quick break before going back to more pressie wrapping.
I hope you are all well this eve
Still haven't managed my entry in to HC strip club yet, i'm afraid. I have my clipstrips at the ready but not had time to work out how to hang them to take a piccie yet, but will hopefully find some time in the next couple of days
Thanks for reserving my post 3dogs and sorry it took me so long to get back to you about the knee replacement. I spoke with my dad and the one he's got is called a hinged replacement, which means he can still bend it like a normal knee, just not quite enough to kneel down. I hope your friend is ok and they manage to get everything sorted for her
.
I can understand how it feels to be told your leg may have to be amputated, unfortunately my dad has been unwell for a few months and has a rather large ulcer on his leg that they have been trying very unsuccessfully to make better.
There had been talk that he may have to have an amputation and just today the district nurse pretty much told him that she thought it would not be getting better and he would need to start thinking about what he wanted to do
, she wasn't very tactful either
Sorry to bring the thread down, I'll stop me moping now, as I know a lot of people are having troubles at the moment.

Thanks frequent, although I think the floor is still quite far below me, so will be a while before I hit it and can bounce back up, but I know I'll get there eventually
why is it that everything always seems to come at once, lol
Your so right though, this thread is the only thing that keeps me sane sometimes, and even when I've no time to post, I love reading about everyone's antics and all the jokes
I feel we are just like one big cyber family and that's just the way I like it

I think can we just mover on it.s ChtiymzxMe too Zippy, me too, but I think if Leenie felt that Locarr was getting at her ................... she'd look at it differently. I think that Locarr has a dry sense of humour and I am sure that, sometimes, if anyone else posted what they did, it would go unmentioned

Hiya hun - the problem for my friend is that her bones are 'like cardboard' according to her specialists, with her rhuematoid arthritis and 'newly discovered' osteoporosis so they say that there is nothing to knit into, if you see what I mean. So I am not sure if it is possible to have the same type of op
I am so sorry to hear about the infection/ulcer on your Dad's leg and how the nurse dealt with the news that an amputation may be necessary. I can empathise with you on this. After my Mam was in hospital for 3 weeks last October, one of her doctors kept telling us that she was 'at the end of her life' when discusssing her situation with us, in front of her!! They would not explore her problem as she was at the end of her life and if they did, they would not operate as she was at the end of her life, etc. Luckily, Mam had 'switched off' by then and was not listening , but it was so hard to hear him say that
and they just said that she was going into a home. We didn't know it was palliative care until we were being shown around and one of the carers commented on it being an end-of-life unit
Docs & nurses assume so much - they assume that you already know what they are telling you, assume that you understand what they are saying, assume that you will accept what they say, and assume that it will not upset you
Sorry for the ranting ........................... wine got to me
