Those aren't curry. Well not in this house anyway! My 2 year old can eat Tikka Massala. My favourite is Madras and when DS2 went overdue I went as far as vindaloo but that's not the norm.

You see over here, you say curry and most people think Chinese (well most people I know). I only started eating Indian a few years back and apart from the odd take-away, I don't think I'm missing that much. Too many of the dishes seem to be swimming in oil plus being from the land of the potato, I prefer to eat cuisine that omit them.

I like my curries but am not clever enough in the kitchen yet to make them from scratch so start with the jars and then tinker a little. The ones I like the most are the posh tall slim PATAKS ones. Really tasty.

    doing best to restrain self...

I always hear that and can't help (every single time) thinking it's Marks lipstick on the coffee cup lol!

OMG someone else who thinks that about the lipstick - when Take That were first about and me and my friend were a lot younger (ahem), when Gary sang the bit about having Marks lipstick on the cup we used to shout GIVE IT BACK!!! :rotfl::rotfl:

Glad to finally find someone else who thinks it, even after all these years!!!!! :T

I'm quite poor in the kitchen as well. The ex did all the minced beef dishes (cottage pie, bolognese, chilli) and I did almost all the chicken ones (chicken & cheese sauce pasta, fajitas, risotto) bar thai curry which I miss.

I'm slowly getting there but the kids are too young to keep out of my way while I'm cooking so must stuff I do is either casserole which only involves bunging in ready prepped veg (whoopsied preferably) and cutting some chicken or making sausage casserole (sausages, potatoes and baked beans) but DS is fussy so all the stuff I love is stuff he isn't a fan of so my diet is fairly limited :(
  • Better go and pay my bills whilst I remember.

I only learned what a cooker and real food was 7 years ago when I quit smoking lol. I just experiment really now...and rarely ever chuck anything away.

Whoopsied food has shown me that a peasant can eat like a king...no excuses for me there so I try to eat well despite my limited budget and I think I accomplish that admirably! My big downfall though isw fruit....I'm really not a big fruit eater but know I should so any whacky tips to help me eat more fruit would be most welcome!

Right bedtime as got a long day tomorrow.

    nite nite x
  • Nite nite everyone! :) x X (the big sloppy one's for darroch10 just so he has nightmares pmsl)
