I think the biggest tips for the next glitch are to find some brass ones and develop a thick skin. With the OEP it was easy to check if a store was glitching by only buying 3 sachets of mix thus reducing any excessive spending. There's no point in filling your trolley unless you're 100% sure it works.

As for having brass ones, sometimes you just have to take a risk. A lot of people come on here asking if xyz store is working. Well you know what, someone has to be the first to a store so why not you? I don't think there were too many in my neck of the woods given the great stock levels but I took 2 young kids out and I tried it (ok I cheated and did it on my own yesterday but if the kids had been here they were a coming too!). I did however risk taking the kids today knowing I could really mess up if 3 discounts were working but thankfully DS played the part and flirted with the SS supervisor (he's only 2 years old bless) so I had free reign to scan & pay.

So what do you do if you make a mistake or if you didn't test it first? You have some options. You can forget your purse/wallet/MOC and say you'll come back later. You can take it on the chin if you've messed up your numbers and didn't get as good a discount as you'd hoped (I put 12pks of tortillas in the same transaction as the 8pks but it was less likely to raise eyebrows as I had already split the shopping to test the sachets first). If you have large brass ones you could come up with some excuse to get a refund or if it's not your local store I guess you could simply walk away from the SS tills if they're busy.

I remember back in June when you could get 2 boxes of beer for £4. I went in, bought 2 cases then went back to the car. Once I'd finished phoning my mum with a fit of the giggles (my first glitch) I went back in and lifted 14 more cases. I got 12 through (had to be bought in 2s so that was 6 transactions) but the last 2 were scanned when teh glitch was fixed. Now I'd saved a fortune and could have just taken them at full price but why pay more than you need to so I simply told the SA to cancel the transaction. I do get some funny looks from him to this day but it was £14 better in my pocket!

I'm glad to see there have been no TCO levels of disgust on here. I've no idea why TCOs brought out the worst in some or maybe it's because Mexican food isn't as universally liked as chocolate. I didn't clear the shelves but I do have £70+ of OEP stuff to last me quite a while. I doubt I'll get through it all but it helped take money off my shopping (free food for DS2 who is far too young for fajitas & tacos). If I find myself with excess 'stock' coming close to the BBE dates, I'll donate to charity but at this moment in time, charity begins at home and I have 2 young kids to look out for so I offer no apologies for getting what I did.

Oh and I forgot to add that I got some new clip strip items today from the same store I scoured yesterday. Managed some Sarah Smith (think that's the name) cloths and wipes, 2 more grill scourers for my bro and I took the last of the Bakugan keyrings to make up the Xmas gift bags for my neighbours kids. How do you think they'll like a combo of:

    Disney parachute
    Cars pencil case
    Littlest Pet Shop
    Lego baggie (mini dozer)
    Bakugan
    Hello Kitty Bandz
    Ben 10 Bands
    Mini puzzles
    DM/wine gums
Fruit strings (a sort of healthy option to offset the DM)

All wrapped up in a 1p Toy Story gift bag! Wonder if I should throw in a pack of tortillas for the parents as well?!?!

    THE GREAT TORTILLA TOWER CHALLENGE

    Current Positions are
    1st place - French Knickers - 61cm
    2nd place - Princess woo - 56.3cm

    1,000,000th Place - Dopey_Sleepy_Grumpy

Rules, must only be the wraps.
I'll take your word for it, no need for pictures of a tower with a tape measure, but no cheating cos you'll only be cheating yourself at the end of the day

(feel free to copy and paste this list and add yourself, i'll be busy the next few days and wont be able to read back and add everyone in)
:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T
:T than themselves - you know who you are!
