Frequent - I do love your posts as your sense of humour is so like mine and hubbie's - you're not Geordie are you?
Sorry to quote myself but just to add that I think that is why I appreciate HC & Westvleteren's sense of humour too, if they are originally from Wearside
BTW I eventually got round to googling 'Westvleteren' the other day - Flanders, trappist monks and beerMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

One of mine does that!I'm not sure where to start with this or where to post but need some urgent advice:
Myself and my partner have been struggling with high bills at present and have been trying to cut our bills as much as possible. This has resulted in us getting our meat from the local butcher and we have seen a great reduction in price.
We have been buying from the butcher for about 6 months now and been trying different meats and been saying to the butchers to let us know of any other meats and have got quite friendly with the staff.
I was quite shocked to learn the other day the chap who normally serves us arrived at the house Monday morning with a big black bag. We were shocked to see him as we discussed where we lived but he'd never been round to the house. He said it's a new type of meat alot of people are liking at the moment but couldn't sell it to us in the shop. He said it was free as we'd been good customers.
To cut a long story short we ended up with cutlets of Swan which we ended up eating on Monday and Tuesday night. It was really good quality meat so mentioned this to a good friend of ours who said that eating this meat is illegal and should never mention this to anyone.
Has anyone else tried Swan? Is this illegal?Bailey_Bear wrote: »All swans are owned by the queen, so yes, it's illegal.
I'm not going to start preaching about the moral aspect, but I'd perasonally report the butcher. Your call though.
Actually all swans are NOT owned by the Queen, this was once discussed on QI, confirmed here, she owns unmarked mute swans on open water http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/8158652.stm
Therefore it would seem if the swan was unmarked and was not a mute swan then it doesn't belong to anyone and is fair game. HOWEVER saying he "can't sell it through the shop" is hardly a testiment to legality. Up to you whether you report it but you have probably already committed a crime here.No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2023

Afternoon T addicts!:D
This might sound so ridiculous to some of you especially those that have Tesco dreams(including me!) but I completely forgot about the Lindtt glitch until I came back from work and caught up on the thread!:eek::eek:
I am so stressed out with work and would have loved another chocolate glitch and these would make great gifts for the kids before they leave for the winter break!
Why are the glitches at Express stores always in the evening? Remember Frijj, Terry's and now Lindtt!:(
Hope this doesn't sound like a rant, but am I falling out of love with Tesco that I forgot to check a major glitch, or didn't even think about it again after waking up?!:eek:0 -
