  • Then you're saying that the following reviews are falsely advertised, missleading the public into a purchase, coz if im right I thought there were laws against this?

HiFi CHOICE - QED Qunex HDMI Award Winner for Best Digital Interconnect in the 2005 HiFi Choice Awards.

WHAT HI-FI September 2005 - "The HDMI-P is a stunning product. The detail it gives you is awesome. Images come to life, showing pin-sharp edge definition and an excellent three-dimensionality".

WHAT HI_FI 2005 QED Qunex HDMI - "The HDMI has no shortage of rivals, but none can get near its simply astonishing performance. Supernatural levels of detail, pin-sharp definition and great three-dimensionality are among its talents".

WHAT HI-FI 2006 - Best Video Cables - "You can spend a fortune on an HDMI cable, particularly if you need longer lengths. However, QED has won yet another Award with a class-leading cable at sensible money. Detail, colours, and contrast are excellent for the money, and longer lengths won't cost you a fortune."

HOME CINEMA 2007 Awards 2007 - "When it comes to retaining signal integrity over a long run, particularly important with HD Ready projectors

All of those magazines are from the same publisher.

QED have a sponsorship deal with a number of them, coincidence?

If you believe everything you read in those types of magazines, then they have successfully reached their target audience....!

From what you quote (I don't want the depression of having to follow the links), they are all complete self-serving tosh, yes - with the possible exception of the last one, because if you are going to use extremely long lengths of cable, differences may show up. "Three-dimensionality"? What's that when it's at home?
coz if im right I thought there were laws against this?
There are - you are free to sue them. But you'll have to find a definition of "three-dimensionality" first. :rotfl:Less flippantly, they all use woolly subjective terms which are very difficult to disprove. Do you see them connect these cables to proper analysis equipment such as time-domain reflectometers? Of course you don't, because that would show that they are all perfectly capable of doing the job intended, the bubble would be burst, and the whole con-merchant industry would collapse around your ears.

Oh, and to add to my previous statement, I worked for the distributor of those magazines....they have some cunning tricks!

Any decent HDMI cable from CPC/Farnell/RS should do the job :)

I got mine from Ebuyer but they have cunningly put the price upwards by £1.50 since I got mine!!

The swines!!! Must be because the "three-dimensionality" functionality has been upgraded...
