For the people advocating getting an iPhone 3Gs... Are you all mental? The 3Gs is seriously outdated now and some of you are recommending getting one now on a two year contract! (Nevermind that it also might be refurbished...)

Mark my words.. You will regret it if you go for that deal.

Back on topic.. iPhones are expensive, there's no getting away from that. I think you have to consider the type of user you are. In my opinion there's other more capable phones out there on much more reasonable tariffs or overall cost.

Ha ha, we're all different I suppose, crazy to me is someone wasting cash on things like smoking. May be crazy if i couldn't afford it but i could so i did, oh and I don't rate the S2 and it's far too big for me!

I personally only ever buy my phones sim free and use them on PAYG (no network branding, no contract, ect.), taking that into account the iphone is the same price as most other top end phones at £500 and unlike the other phones it holds it's value, if I bought the iphone 4s now for £500 when the next iphone comes out I would be able to sell the 4S on for ~£400 so the 4S will have only cost me £100 for a year.

if I bought a galaxy nexus for £520 in a years time it will likely be worth about £250 max.
