Couldn't seem to get going this morning after reading Jackieg's news. Everything else seemed irrelevant and frivolous.
However....
HH: What a manipulative so-and-so your OH's ex boss was. I'm so glad it came back and bit him on the bum. Serves him right.
Mrs Mix: Do you know, if I got up in the morning and thought, 'today I have to clean the cooker' I'd go straight back to bed. It's only the thought of my mother's horrified face that stops me asking one of those nice men who come round with a van and do it all for you, to come and do mine. IYKWIM! Well, that and the shame and embarrassment of letting anyone see the state of my cooker.:o
Cookie: Why bother, no one will remember what you wore last year. I've been wearing the same top to posh dos for years. Mind you, I don't get out much.
Tru: good luck with the kitchen. I'm sure I've told everyone about the year my sainted SIL cooked Christmas dinner for the entire extended family in a cooker that was balanced on a 'workmate.'
JulieG: You just look after yourself and that treasured little passenger of yours.
Had a funny day. The vicaress and I had agreed that we were not going to buy each other presents this year. Fat chance of getting away with that! My printer gave up the ghost last week so what must she do but present me today with a brand new one. When I had finished yelling at her we tried to set this printer up. She is good at this sort of thing but it even defeated her. After 3 hours of struggle and a lot of unvicarly language, the printer was boxed up and will be returned to the shop tomorrow. A whole afternoon wasted. I could have done some cards, I could have cleared out the understair cupboard, I could have wrapped the only 3 Christmas pressies I have bought so far, I could have cleaned the cooker but none of these things got done. (Shame about the cooker!):D
What OS have I done? Does swearing at the computer count? No? Well then, notalot.
So a gentleman walks into a restaurant and asks the maitre d', "Can you please tell me how you prepare your turkeys?" To which the maitre d' replies, "Yes. We let them know right up front they're not going to make it."I believe that friends are quiet angels

            Evening all
JackieG - so sorry for your loss, love to you and all your family, we are all thinking of you at this sad time xxx
Happy Anniversary NPM - that year has gone so quickly
Well went to see the Doc today, and as expected he says I have a bad chest infection (more in the right than the left - however the pain is more in the left - whats that all about???) He has started me on antibiotics and told me to rest (fat chance of that!) thinks I am very run down - hardly surprising after this year!
So I have been sitting and doing some cross stitch tonight instead of cleaning like a maniac which is what I usually do when stressed lol DD2 has been round to see if I am ok and DD1 has been constantly on the phone - well in between bouts of sickness, as the morning (or in her case all day) sickness seems to have returned with a vengence. 2 weeks until her first scan and then we shall know if her dates are wrong - she looks far further on than they think!
Hm left over veg soup for tea - was actually really lovely and there is enough left for tomorrow, so will be nice and easy for me to warm up, thats about the only OS for me today, hopefully when the tablets kick in I will have more energy and can get back on track.
Hugs to all who need or want them.

            Hello all,
Cold and windy here all day....did put some washing on line as all the towels in hot press are hard so will leave the others out overnight to maybe soften them up a bit.
Thinking of JackieG and family.....Anniestar, she changed her number not so long ago, have been on to her no problem earlier.
JulieG...please take care of you both...not much longer now.
DD2 sent a lovely calendar with DS2 to-night....lovely picture of the girls (6 and 3) so have framed it and put it on sideboard for all to see...
Roast pork steak with stuffing, marmalade glaze ( the stuff that didn't set properly last year), roast butternut squash, hg leeks with white sauce and baked potatoes....was really nice.
Need to get Christmas present for DS2 before he goes back to London on SUnday, he will be in Australia for Christmas, so won't see him until New Year.
Nice to see you Csarina....hope that you and OH are well.
Hugs to all in need or want, stay safe and warm
