  • I was wondering if there was a list anywhere of places to sell cd's/dvds/games/text books etc online. I currently am doing a different set of challenges to raise money for Christmas, however we need to raise a fair bit of money to redecorate the house and I am sure £2012 will go a long way. There is alot to be sold and would love any ideas of the good paying sites (the only one I know is music magpie).

  • I want in.

My target will be to have enough to buy a decent Mazda RX8 55 model and pay insurance in full.

    About £6000 in total.

I have around 20 items ending on eBay tomorrow night, all have watchers. Alot of them have bids and some even have over 10 watchers. Here is hoping for a mad rush of bids last minute, let the pounds roll in.

I will be doing my update tomorrow evening folks, and spending tonight trying to increase it as much as possible

  • For those of you who were interested my little girly rat is well on the road to recovery now :)

On the money saving side of things I haven't made anything extra in the past couple of days, although most of my ebay listings have a number of watchers. My boyfriend also got a £1000 cheque from his car insurance company who finally agreed his car that was stolen was worth £4.5k not £3.5k. That's his money though and he needs to spend it on the spray job on his new mini so I can't count it!

May well have to save doubly hard soon as I'm going to look at a 1969 Mk1 Ford Capri tomorrow with the view to buying it at the end of the month! It's up for £2750 so going to try and knock him down to £2500 if i like it :P

  • Hi guys,

Just a quick update, not made any extra money this week but I have managed a week with no cigarettes and took a packed lunch into work every day. So by my reckoning thats £36 I've saved. Im not going to put that inot my total though as its not extra earnings. Must get into gear and get some stuff off to music magpie and ebay.

Keep up the good work everyone.

    Cheers

I have decided to work my savings out by including all money saved on items I would usually buy and also extra money earned, refunded, found etc..
I won't put each amount away as an actual saving, as I need some of the money right now, it has, however, really made me focus on where I spend my money. It has also eased the pressure a bit. My repayment from my energy provider with go towards my water rates. The money I will earn from selling my old books will buy new footie stuff for my daughter. I would love to get to xmas with £2012 cash in the pot, but thats pretty unlikely at the moment. Mind you, this is so motivating, you don't know what is achievable til you try.
I have managed to secure some more overtime this week, so I will add that to my total too soon.;)
