i have several piggy banks around the house that i filled up last year, so will add them to the total.... im not sure where i can change them up though?? my bank only takes 5 bags at a time, so that could take a few visits. any ideas?

    Hi,

I would love to join in this challenge; please add me in. I am planning to start £2 a day challenge in 2012 + selling unwanted staff on ebay/Amazon. I also want to save £10 a week travel money (as have free travel from work) and make some little money from Shopandscan, quidco and sites like Music Magpie and CashBee.

I would also love the excell spreadsheet please. Thank you

I'd steer well clear of Cashbee if I were you, they are a scam operation:

Don;t email the ebay buyer, hit them with the Non Payment strike instead ... they will take more notice of this than you emailing them
  • gosh trying to keep up with you all, each day to motivate me. Haven't counted anything this week, but keeping the faith that the end of the month will show mega savings all to go into my pot.
My task for this week was sign up to more survey sites DONE, do surveys DONE, sort savings accounts for money sloshing around in current account DONE, and calendar all bill renewals SIDETRACKED.
Becoming more ambitious so I did the budget tool on this site, screwed down every last penny until it will hurt, and will work through the money makeover now to make sure I'm making the most of every penny. and am starting to go through it very methodically. So for next week
    1) calendar utility swap dates
    2) send off old mobiles
    3) put it in my diary not to have library books out over xmas as every flipping year i get overdue fines! always have loads books out so it could be seen as good to only go overdue once a year, and a bargain service, but DOH! Cost more than I saved with whoopsies this morning.

    Hi,
Thanks for your post. I think I realized the fact that they are not any good; luckily I did not post the parcel to them yet.
I prepared everything and packed, then went to Post office as wanted to post the parcel and they did not accept the FREEPOST label without a code. So I emailed them (all this happened about 2 weeks ago) and still no reply. So I am looking to list the CDs/DVDs elsewhere.
I will never ever use them and also would not recommend them to anyone. I just wonder how could they afford the TV commercial - as that was the place I actually found out about them.

  • £32.81 to add from some more ebay sales makes my total look more healthy :)
  • Bess1234 - re the library books. I can renew my library books online, which can help manage books going overdue.
Doesn't your library offer this service? Might be worth looking into to save you paying out in fines in the future.

Hurrah - cheque for just over £50 arrived from Music Magpie today! Have lots of other CD's to go through as well.... Ker-ching!
3 clothes items on ebay ending tomorrow and all have 3 or 4 watchers so am hopeful.
Also put in a complaint/compensation claim today to my energy supplier for mishandling of my account - fingers crossed!

I have just spent the last couple of hours painstaking listing books, cds and dvds on a couple of sites (Zapper had the best prices, so sold most of the stuff to them, along with a few to musicmagpie), I would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of doing this to sit and list all the barcodes on a spreadsheet or word document first, that way you can just cut and paste to compare prices on different websites - think I might have gone a bit loopy with all those numbers  I got very excited when a textbook came up as £5.74 (think I paid 30p for it!), and started running around the house looking for anything with a barcode. It was like barcode bingo, just glad the cat moved fast enough before I could check it :rotfl:

Is it wrong to be so excited about a grand total of £31.13?!:D
