I am STILL to get off the starting blocks :( however hvae a load of Ebay items finishing this weekend that are currently on £82 and holds of watchers and only 20 out of the 40 items with bids up to now so plenty of room to make more. I am only counting hard cash which actually hits the bank account. However i am doing the £2 jar the sealed pot challenge and the £1 per day challenge too. I got a voucher from here for £2 off nappies yesterday and used in boots last night, well chuffed as £2 saved. I have decided to put this £2 into one of my jars so will not count for this challenge but will count for one of the other ones. That way i get the use of the voucher plus have still saved the money in savings. Going to do this whenever I get a saving on a supermarket till receipt also. :)

Aw thank you :) I just had to give her another bath as the silly thing decided to walk right through the food bowl and get covered in more carrot based baby food! She's the only rat I've had, well any pet really, who doesn't lose their appetite when ill - she can't eat solid food properly, but she'll shovel away anything else..

aaaaw, bless her heart! of course, she prob rolled around in the baby food as she worked out if she does that, mummy gives her a lovely bath! :)

oooooh, and massive congrats on the win! i thought i was the only person left on the planet boycotting i tunes! lol!

on the saving front, things arent going great! hmph! i listed two things on ebay, one had a watcher, but theyve now abandoned me! ggggggrrrrrrr! lightweights!:rotfl:

ive spent a week going through cds n books, and looking every single one up on zapper, music magpie, we buy books, cex, amazon and ebay. ive listed some on amazon, and sold 2, made a grand profit of £10, if all goes well. i cant bring myself to sell 20 cds to zapper for £6 tho! esp as ive seen how much they, and music magpie charge on amazon! also, i now actively hate one of em, as if what ive read is true they are the evil so and so's (zoverstocks) that constantly beat my prices by a penny! i'll try and sell some cds on ebay as a set of five, and see what happens. also i'll try local music/book shops n see what they offer. im also gonna list some lighter books on green metropolis. i went crazy in the summer and gave aload of stuff to charity shops, maybe id have made a few quid, but atleast i'll be going to heaven. stop laffin at the back!:rotfl:
    :hello:
  • Fingers crossed your little one gets better soon crazyratlady. Good news about the ipod win as well.

I also have chickens and ours have just started laying again after a break of over 2 months. They do deserve a break because they are good little layers throughout the year but I hate having to buy eggs now. They are more expensive and just don't taste as nice. When they lay more we will sell the spare eggs and we get £1 for 6. Doesn't quite cover their feed but definitely helps towards it.

We are also really planning on what fruit and veg we're going to grow this year. We were planning on making proper raised beds as the soil quality isn't great but we've costed up wood and it will cost a small fortune. Anyone have any ideas where we can get some cheaply (we're looking out on freecycle but nothing comes up)?

I have 2 bids on one off my ebay items so it will definitely sell. And requested another £10 valued opinions voucher yesterday.

£20 pounds to add from babysitting tonight. :)
Do you babysit for people you know or do you advertise your services? We have enquired about adopting but we don't have enough experience with children so if I could babysit it would kill two birds with one stone but I don't really know anyone near me with children.

Why not try this year to grow some stuff in growbags. It is just amazing what you get out of them.
    Good luck!

    I'm finally off the mark!!

£5.56 refund from O*ado for damaged shopping (crushed crisps etc) - I'm counting this as if it wasn't for this challenge I wouldn't have bothered to claim the money back. Transferred into my newly open savings account!

Bids coming in on ebay too so hopefully I'll have more to add next week too.

lilykim - Hi. I used Zapper for the first time last week after seeing it mentioned on this site (sorry to the person who referred it but can't remember exactly which thread I saw it on - but thank you whoever you are ;) ).
Confirmation received today that they are sending out a chq 1st class post. £15 for items I was going to give away. Great service so far. :j

  • I promised myself that I wasn't going to buy anything in the sales this year because I got made redundant just before xmas and I'm trying to keep hold of all the redundancy money but.........I went on to the Matalan site today through TopCashback and I just couldn't resist esp when they had long black stripey cardigans in my siz reduced from £18.00 to...........50p!!!! :rotfl: so I bought 2!! I'm counting the massive £35.00 towards my pot because I had looked at and considered buying the same cardigan earlier on in the year but resisted. I will count the money back from TCB aswell when it tracks through

Huge thanks to everyone who takes the time and effort to post all the comps! :T
