Hi, went to in-laws for day today as didn't see them at xmas. They gave DH and I £200 so we are halving it and mine is going straight into savings, so I'm counting it towards total. Yay.

Please count me in - thanks

I've done all sorts of variations of this over the past few years on here, the make £x a month for a while, the olympic challenges going back to 2008 (I presume) and I've always done ok but then a got a better paid job & stopped Mystery shopping. Did a fair bit of selling and decluttering Autumn 2010/early 2011 music magpie, bit more amazon & GM, old mp3 to weeebuy, old silver to hatton garden metals - I did a bit of everything as well as ebay and selling bits through work - a service which has sadly been pulled as it was fab.

So this year I'm going to try and focus again on this challenge - just about to set up my spreadsheet as I'm sure keeping track helps me, as soon as I stop doing that it all goes a bit wrong!

I'm going to add the money made to an account I set up for money last year so that if we do move we have money for any extra furniture/improvements without dipping into savings - that would be great!

    Good luck guys.

Oh a tip I have for those doing this for the first time. I've got a piggy bank where I put the pennies I find in the road, change people sometimes tell you to keep when you buy something for them etc, then at the end of the year I count it. I've just counted my one for 2011 - £26.76. Not a lot but all money I've not had to try very hard to get and all being paid in that I would have otherwise left/just spent on random stuff. Hopefully this year I'll be paying in at least the same for this challenge!

I don't have a problem forwarding the email on if anyone else wants it. Please PM with your email though as I won't be trawling through posts.

It's a brilliant spreadsheet and easy to read and use!

I'm going to look into some freelance work with peopleperhour
