After digging out the letter & reading through the letter properly & calmly, It states that "our case will be transferred to a debt collection company to pursue". It then goes on to say "It is possible that any action taken in civil courts with regard to this matter could result in the issuing of a county court judgement against you to recover the monies" further down the letter it explains enforcement action following a county court judgement and explains that failing to contact them may result in paying additional costs of enforcement action.
After reading these threads I am guessing these are all scare tactics. Which were starting to work on us if I hadn't seen this thread.

Yes, they are just scare tactics. I trust you have seen more than just this little old thread, as it is one among thousands, all the same, all with posters ignoring their letters.

You do mention having seen the examples on the forum so I assume you have seen the sticky thread 'PPC letters & threats' and watched the Watchdog clip on there with a solicitor showing you just what to do with such a fake PCN.

If so then no worries, you can see which letter will come next. The latest letter you got is just a template like everyone gets and is careful with its wording as I am sure you can see, they are not able to 'apply for a CCJ'. Nothing will happen so please stop worrying.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You have nothing to worry about, bambam. This company (Athena) never ever take anyone to court, like all of them they just threaten. I did two overstays at Lidls; on the first one, I just said I was not going to pay them and if they wanted to take me to court to be my guest but not to waste any more of my time with their stupid letters. They didn't.

On the second occasion they never even wasted a stamp writing to me at all so I guess my name went on their "not-a-mug" database.

Like all bullies, they target those who display any fear and leave the tougher ones alone!

Just thought I'd let you all know that it has now been 5 months since alleged offences and we only made it to Stage 3 of the "we'll take you to court blah blah" letters. BOOO! Athena, very disappointed in you! Rotfl:rotfl:

You could always write to them, chasing them up. And then ignore anything they send you all over again. :)

Yes I should and then hopefully I'd get to Stage 4, possibly even scary solicitors letters. Mind you with postal prices going up I doubt anyone will ever hear from cowboy parking companies ever again! :j

Good morning all - I just thought I would finally finish this thread.......it has now been 8, nearly 9 months since alleged parking contraventions x 2. We have not heard a word and 'scary' letters are in the bin :) Happy ignoring everyone. Over and Out!!

Nice to have someone come back and say it worked. Most posters seem to ask for advice then not come back to say it worked (when it obviously did)
