Thorntons,£150 Xmas hamper now £75(many others 1/2 price too)

hi guys newbie here!

i just ordered the thorntons hamper could anyone tell me how the hamper comes delivered. is it wrapped with any thorntons logos or anything on the actually delivery wrapping. Just that ive ordered it for my mum and i may not be in when they deliver it and if she answers the door to the courier and the parcel has thorntons on the packaging then the surprise is spoiled so ill have to make some kind of arrangement if there is.

yes its usually got thorntons written on the box. quite pretty but not very discreet!!

The outer box has thorntons written all over it several times so she will know it's from them i'm affraid;). hope you have better luck than me my delivery had no tracking info so i called thorntons and they told me that my box had been missplaced by the courier as had no address on was told just to wait a bit longer to see if they could sort it out:(. it arrived yesterday the bottom of the box was open so arrived upsidedown and my 2 packs of choc raisins where missing and my ultimate choc hamper was a mess (choc santa and reindeer and 3 lollies smashed to bits):mad: i think it must have been dropped from a great height flung onto the dual carriageway passed between 4 cars and then eventually delivered to me:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:. rang customer services and they are sending out replacements figures she didn't say what to do with these ones so have packaged then up to give to courier when he delivers new ones i wish she had just replaced the whole lot and collected this one as god knows what state the boxes of chocs will be in when they get opened. honestly you should see the state of it. courier appologised and said it was delivered to him like that :eek:and if any problems to ring thorntons. sorry end of rant just another day waiting in for a delivery

Well I received my hamper this morning and my choc santa is smashed to bits. There is also no mint chocs??? Its still lovely though apart from fudge box being a bit tatty. Thing is packaging and box are fine so i cant help but wonder if they are just binging in broken santas. Thing is how do i prove missing/broken items?

Exactly the same problems reported by people this time last year. Thorntons used to be a quality company, but not any more.

My Santa was smashed to bits as well; box was undamaged so obviously smashed before it was put in the box - a wee bit naughty.

well ive been trying to call for a while now and its just ringing out and going to answer machine which is weird. Im guessing everyone phoning to complain about smashed santas lol

well after being on hold for 10 mins i got through. Told her my santa was smashed and my mint chocs were missing. She asked if i could go to my nearest store and replace.....erm no! I paid £3.95 for it to be delivered and it would cost £10 in petrol plus parking charges to replace. Why should I do it! She then said the mint chocs werent there because they were out of stock....couldnt believe it....so they just dont send them? No replacement or anything? Anyway long story short they are sending replacements out in 5 days

I was lucky with my hamper this year no damages. It must be somthing about the hollow novelty shaped chocs being so delicate. Last year I had a smashed up white choc sheep. My box was a mess too it was open at the top and a full can of hot choc drink had exploded! I'm sure the courier used my parcel as a football. I must say the customer service lady who answered my call was lovely. I got the replacements for the damaged items a few days later.

Well it just gets better just rang thorntons about my replacements as the yodel van just went straight passed and low and behold they weren't sent out yesterday on next day delivery as i was told they would be:(, now being told someone will email me with a delivery date (when they can be bothered no doubt) i explained i'm going away tomorrow so delivery in a few days is no good she said someone will email me:mad: i hope thorntons are reading this as i'm fumming can you tell ahhhhh:mad:
