I'm feeling thoroughly fed up.
I have tried really hard this week, and should have come in below budget easily... But..... I blew it by buying a pair of boots that I hadn't budgeted for(I'm not thoroughly fed up about this), then I spent £22 on 2 friends' birthdays that are this week (I can be tight with my own spending, but I just can't do it to my generous friends), then today...............
a fixed penalty (driving offence) arrived in the post... I knew I had been flashed but I was praying and praying. It just seems that the whole budget thing in January has been a waste of time. I normally drive really carefully and really cautiously and I just made one mistake, and yet the number of idiotic maniacs driving round Manchester is incredible, and they all seem to get away with it (probably because they have no documents, so therefore are untraceable???) I had to borrow money off my dad to pay my mortgage, and yet I'm so tired because I seem to be at work all the time, yet I have nothing to show for it.
I am thoroughly fed up. I probably don't even qualify for this board, because apart from my mortgage I'm just about on top of my debts (ongoing overdraft and credit cards, but only what I could pay off if I have a good month), but I am constantly struggling to keep my head above water and stay out of debt, and I just don't seem to be able to afford the lifestyle I really would like. I really like the attitude towards budgeting on this board which is why I come here.
i just don't get it though. My friends who all do the same work as me seem to have so much more money than me, they all own bigger houses, buy better clothes, drive nicer clothes etc, and I just don't get what I'm doing wrong.
