Jazzyjeff wrote:couldn't be easier, before you buy anything on the net log into Quidco and search for the shop on there. Go into the merchant and it will detail what you will get i.e. a fixed amount or % of spend etc. Then click on the quidco link to go to the shop and it will track your spend. Then a couple of months later you get your money! I've had around £600 from this so far
Which gets you more 'money' back though? Cos at the moment I click 90% of my sites through nectar and get the points that way.
Sounds good though!!0 -

Nectar is quite a poor reward system really, worth having but its not great.
Quidco is miles better - they give you 100% of what they get (minus £5 a year admin) and I would of thought have loads more merchants and offers.0 -

I shall reset me homepage to quidco then!! I suppose I get enough points through petrol buying anyways!
...not that I really have any spare money to spend online! :rotfl: I shall however be renewing car insurance online in June so I shall go through there. I'll investigate lots of other websites too! (and get the boyf and family to log in as me when they does online shopping
)
I'm going into town tomorrow to investigate phone deals. My brother is going to use my old contract for the next 6 months so I wont be paying out for that anymore
See where can offer me good deals. Orange also do £50 cashback for any old phone brought back in (also makes calls my family make to me cheaper as theyre all on Orange!) 0 -
this is turning into my debt diary!! :rotfl:
Spoke to the bank yesterday about the charges (they have left me with £1.22 for the month
) and they said there is nothing they can do, said they'd put me through to customer services - 45 mins later im still hanging on the phone waiting for someone!!! My bladder unfortunately gave up and I had to put the phone down  Is it worth making a claim for £60? What about the £12 ive been charged in the past for credit card?
Would I also need to change banks after?
Also went into town to investigate Orange phones. Found out that I can save 10% cos I work for local government (I darent mention who because of the publicity we have at the moment!! :A ...thanks tho to all you guys for making my last week at work really really really busy! ) Spoke to my parents and mum said she'd give me £10 a month towards the bill as she'd get rid of her phone and use the possible new one to txt her friends in the evening. I also managed to talk the guy round to getting £100 buy back for phones instead of £50! Took a load of paperwork home with me to read... first 4 months of my contract would be £6.50 apparently! Then £31.50 thereafter
Need to think about it... its getting more and more difficult to talk to my boyfriend, we spend all day txting! (2000 messages this month
) I went to carphonewarehouse to speak to someone and they were really rude to me when I explained my situation. And 3 wanted to credit check me before I had even signed up for the contract
All I asked was about a certain plan and could they tell me more about themselves and they said they'd check to see if I was eligable for a contract phone and could I fill in a few details?? hmmmm...
I know the orange one works out more money overall... Ive just received better customer service from them..
If I payed monthly via the website, could I use quidco to get money back???0 -
Ive just had a thought. As your mum seems quite sympathetic, is there a chore or two that she hates - like ironing or cleaning the oven/bathroom? Could you offer to do these for a reduction in your rent? It would also burn off some calories. Or maybe you could cook the dinner on several nights or do the shopping, wash the car or all of these for a larger reduction. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

Hi Rachel. The first thing to do is DON'T PANIC. What you need to do is contact a debt advice organisation (try a Citizens Advice Bureau for some numbers). Also try the National Debtline number or your local Council (Birmingham has debt advice teams advice is for Birmingham residents and it's free). Then go to your local library and borrow some good books on debt advice and tips. Alvin Hall is a good writer, he has been in debt himself so he knows hat its about. Good luck (I have been in debt myself so I know how scarey it feels).Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0

Right, 1000 lines please young lady!
Yes of course it is worth making a claim! Are you really willing just to give away your hard earned cash?
Phone them up. Tell them you are appalled at the way you have been treated as a long standing, and loyal customer. Tell them you have kept an imaculate account (assuming you have) and you demand your money back. Tell them how you have become aware that these charges are unlawfull (not illegal - make sure you get this right).
The CS operator might only have the authority to reduce them and not fully refund them. Hold tight. Don't budge an inch. The likelyness (sp) is that they will get a branch manager or some other clown to phone you back. Say unless they refund your charges in full you will looking into reclaiming them through the small claims court and will consider taking your business elsewhere. How much you give/blag on it depends on their stubborness.
And whatever you do, stay calm and polite. Flirt aswell. Get them on your side. They won't want to refund an @sshole and it just means more hassle for you.
Don't lay it on all thick at first though. You don't want to make threats/promise you won't keep!

You use more than 500 texts a month!!????. ..i only get 100 a month,so i limit myself to 3 a day.that way i know i wont go over it..If someone texts me, i reply with everything i need to say,in one text.everyone knows my way now so they accept it or push off!!
Its sometimes cheaper to talk for 3 minutes than text about 10 times to say the same things.YOU HAVE 16 A DAY!..stick to it..
!clear your sent box everyday so you can keep count..its a challenge! TO FINISH LAST, FIRST YOU HAVE TO FINISH....0 -

I normally use about 2000!!
My boyfriend lives in Birmingham and Lincoln (uni and home) so we find the only way to communicate is through texts. He's at uni during the day, and im at work, then I come home and go out to where ever then he goes to work. Its easier to catch a quick text now and again rather than have a conversation. Its something that yes I could cut down, but I'm prepared to pay a little more for. Otherwise i probably wouldnt have a relationship! hehehe0 -

I've already tried this route but was left waiting for about half hour on hold! [needed to empty my bladder so just couldnt hold on anymore]
I shall write my letters this afternoon and see what happens. Hopefully it'll come back next month when I really need the money!!
What about the £12 charges? Can you claim for those too? (most of mine have been due to interest pushing me over my limit! )0
