  • They phone me every couple of weeks, tell me about problems with my computer. I reply, "what computer, "your computer in the house" "I don't have a computer", "your lap top then", "I don't have a lap top. Won't allow that sort of thing in my house, work of the devil". They just hang up ;)

lol, yep.. they take you to event viewer and hope you don't know anything about computers so they can baffle you with bullshit.

The best way to get rid is to just start having phone sex with them.

Yes, I'm sorry to say my friend as well as being dyslexic is a total twit where computers are concerned, I go and see her a couple of times a week and while we're nattering I'll run the up-dates and scans. Once a month I'll see if it needs a defrag. No sweat she's a mate who doesn't ''do' 'puters, I don't 'do' knitting' but she made me a really nice cardi for my birthday. :D

Am I weird in the fact that I actually want one of these calls?
I could have fun with them for ages.

I have had 2 of these calls both from what sounded like an indian person, the first one was about 18 months ago and the other one just last week.
I didn't do anything but unfortunately some people may do.

I just feel sad that people do this to others without a second thought. I just let the guy say what he had to say, I knew it was a scam then when he told me to turn on my computer I said 'Oh ok so you can hack into my computer and rip me off?' In a polite manor he strenuously tried to assure me that this was not a scam and I have nothing to worry about. I then told him that I hoped he could live with himself for ripping people off this way and he put the phone down himself
    Thanx

Whenever I answer the phone where there's a slight pause then an Indian voice comes on the line I hang up immediately. If it's concerning anything important they'd write to you.

The old fella had one of these calls today...luckily I got to him in time. He had spent 3 hours on the phone downloading their software and was just about to give card details when I turned up and snatched the phone off him and proceeded to give the bloke on the other end a right mouth full. I'm now in the process of removing the software and running numerous virus scans. I have the phone number of the caller and would it be so wrong of me to put the number into price comparison websites so they are bombarded with automated calls?
