Vent - Sainsbury's now playing Christmas music

I hate it intensely. Someone tried to get the boss at work to let us play Xmas music in the store, and if he'd said yes, I would have murdered somebody, I'm sure.

I wouldn't mind so much if places played stuff like, Punk xmas covers, or Ben Folds' Grinch soundtrack, or the nightmare before christmas, but rotating through the usual suspects is just a pain in the backside.

Maybe it's to encourage you skip merrily through the isles plucking items off the shelves without taking the time to work out their confusing and misleading price labels?

Your local butcher, baker and green grocer probably won't be playing naff xmas music but will most likely treat you to some real community spirit rather than life-less self service tills bleeping away at you.

Ah when I worked at Morrisons in my student days I would often sing a long. Although the 'Let it Shine' music campaign drove me crackers quite quickly lol.

they don't play it in my store, although we did have a brass band playing Christmas music on Sunday which got annoying as they weren't playing the full songs only part then starting another.

CHRISTMAS SONGS/CAROLS

you could ask them to play Easter songs as you dont like CHRISTMAS songs in the run up to CHRISTMAS.

I worked at Littlewoods in Nottingham, and believe me when you have one tape on a loop for your four hour shift you loose the will to celebrate christmas,as well as life.Considering ten years ago,they used to start playing the tape in October.To this day i cannot walk in to a shop with the dreaded music playing.Most of our customers complained on a regular basis.Ignored.

I'm a shop assistant and it drives me crazy hearing the same Christmas songs on repeat. It would be better if there was a bit of variety, I like some carols and love Fairytale of New York, but it's normally a Bob Geldof guilt trip or ding dong ding dong ding dong...
I love Christmas but our store has been promoting it since October!

Im not a fan of the xmas tunes being played 3/4 weeks of the 25th but its just how it is, you cant really get away from christmas being mentioned. The music was played the other week but i didnt hear it today so maybe someone didnt put the cd in.

Id rather get on with the shopping and get it done, if any songs are played i just block the ones out i dont like.
