An hour on a morning and 2 hours at night since the weather turned cold. All backed up by the gas fire.

    6am to 8am then 5pm to 9pm.

I feel the cold but all the time the kids can still walk around the house in short sleeves shirts it means its not too cold!

90 minutes in the morning, same in the afternoon, and at night.

We're finding it alot colder this year than last, when we had all that snow! It's the icy cold winds at the moment, and we have a vent in the wall, so drafts drafts drafts.

    24 hours a day at 18 degrees.

Use oil heater in the living room for a small boost when needed instead of heating the whole house to a higher temperature.
  • I used to live in a cold, draughty 7 bed Victorian villa. Heating on 24/7 and never paid a penny.

I am now in more modest accomodation situated in an exclusive historic building just outside Princetown on beautiful Dartmoor. It is rent free and heat and light is also provided at no charge.

Be bedtime soon and lights out.:D

Hi...usually 20 degrees on the room stat, TRVs at 3...turn down stat when when we are out and off at night (prefer cool temps for sleeping). We always wear slippers and sweater/fleece. If it feels a bit chilly we'll crank it up...life is too short to spend it shivering in your own home.

Exactly what we say,no way will I sit with 5 layers on and still cold,2 disabled people in the bungalow, temp at 21 turn it off if too warm and on if cold , im a miserable git if im cold......I dont care what I go without in life but heat is not one of them.......

Half an hour in the morning on weekdays as I like to put a warm t-shirt and jumper on :) Then that's it, if we get really cold we'll boost it for an hour in the evening with the room stat set to 21 degrees...some days we don't even do that. But then I have a terraced new build, well insulated, and a condensing boiler, and I wear slippers and a warm jumper and wrap myself up if it's chilly. I only have my hot water on for 40 mins a day! I am heating a small living room and even smaller kitchen, the rest of the rads are off in 2 bed flat. I have fleece lined the dividing door to keep the heat in the living room/kitchen and heat it 1 hour mornings and 2 hours 4 - 6pm, in all day. At night I sit with duvet. The living room is around 15 degrees the bedroom goes down to 9 degrees through the night but I am warm in bed. I am using £1 a day on prepay gas meter and 23 electric units a week. I have to keep billls down due to £145 shortfall on my housing benefit a month to come out of my state pension.

Just over an hour in the mornings, and up to 3 hours in the evenings. I've had 2 nights out this week, so those days I only put in on for about half an hour when I got home.

I tend to only have it on to 17/18C as I don't like it too hot, so it's not firing for 3 hours.
