I have used First Direct for years. No.1 for service in my view.0

Used HSBC for about 6 years without any issues, but I was getting nil from their bank a/c and CC. My husband and I recently opened a joint Halifax reward a/c for the £5 pcm reward and I also switched to NW Flex for the Free travel insurance+rewards for abroad CC. I have no complaints so far. Also been with Barclays just under 5 years and the service has been good.0

Co-ops basic bank account is still as brutal on the poorest customers with their charges for bounced direct debits!
To Christ87
Well, any bank will charge you for not having enough money in your account to pay Direct Debits.
At the end of the day, BASIC bank accounts DO NOT have overdraft facility SO it is up to YOU to manage your money and your account properly!...it's not rocket science.
 DD due to be paid + Insufficient Funds = Bank Charges + Your Fault + No Sympathy
BTW You can always phone the Co-op if you think a DD may fail tomorrow / in a few days and they'll cancel it straightaway no problem....have done it myself
For Blushing...
I've always found Co-op Customer Service to be very good. Also, have heard good things about First Direct tooDFW'er - Lightbulb moment : 31st July 2009 - £18,499
28th October 2019 - £13,505 - 27% paid off.
Demolishing my House of Debt.. one brick at a time!!

Co-op, Smile (on-line bank) and First Direct consistently get very high ratings in Which customer surveys. Use Smile myself and always been happy with the service.
Wouldn't touch Santander with the proverbial ten-foot barge=pole!Once it's gone, it's gone - so remember...
Pay for the things you need before you dream about the stuff you want :think:0
