Yes, I know, but again I'd have something I'd describe as "decent", not something I'd describe as "top quality".
Anyway, can someone post a sample pic from the camera somewhere? Would be interested to see if it's actually much better than the camera on my phone...0 -

£14.99 from Maplins and I must say I am extremely impressed. It comes with 4 rechargeable batteries aswell so I always have spare batteries in case it runs out
£25 + £15, becoming less of a 'deal' all the time.0 -

One of the weird things about the techno age is the way it's provided everyone with a new language but too often at the expense of the old.
Where cameras seem to be concerned, everyone bangs on about megapixel this and megapixel that, as if the 'megapixel' was taking the photograph.
Premier cameras come with premier lenses. And premier lenses cost.
You can stick a 10Mp chip in a camera with a plastic lens and all you'll get is a picture taken by a camera with a plastic lens. (And a hell of a lot of in-camera processing to try and make the result half-way acceptable.)
Sad, really, the way the word 'lens' has vanished to be replaced with this daft obsession with 'megapixel' . . .0 -

Don't forget the memory card as well - it'll be a £99 camera before the day's out at this rate0 -
Yup! However if you've got some rechargeable batteries already, and a decent SD card, this camera cannot be beaten at 27 1/2 quid.
I've just bought an ixus 900 and this cam. The ixus is for when I am not drunk, and the premier for when I am0 -

So, which one gets the most use then?0 -
The guy posted a 50% saving on a camera that is absolutely fine for everyday use and for taking family and holiday snaps.I bought it for £50 from Tesco just before Christmas and was happy with my purchase.
Why are there always people waiting in the wings to shoot down a bargain.
It's a digital camera, it's 6MP (one way or another) and it's £25.
Thanks for the spot, best of luck to all who get them.0 -

Anyway seems Premier are the biggest compact camera manufacturer in the world - this is from their website
"Established in 1983, Premier Image Technology Corp. (Premier) is now the leading digital still camera (DSC) manufacturer in Taiwan, as well as the biggest compact camera manufacturer in the world with more than 15% of global market shares. Its key products included (1) image input products, such as compact film camera, digital still camera, video camera (2)
image output products, such as various types of LCD, DLP front-end projector, and (3) key components such as camera module for mobile phone embedded with camera, optical engine for projector, optical engine for rear projection TV (RPTV) and optical components such as various lens elements, and lenses modules."
supposed to make cameras for other well known brands aswell, so not such an un-branded make afterall.
Also for those that had the Vivitar 5385 have you seen this website
http://www.photographyblog.com/index.php/weblog/comments/bargain_bucket_5_megapixels_for_25/
its has a few less features but is a Pentax Optio 50 clonemaybe the Premier is a similar clone?

Got the last one at my local yesterday. The lady said they were all going back up to normal price today.
Haven't opened it as it is a birthday present for my son in March, but got one of the 5mp last year and was very pleased with it.
For £25 quid it is a stonking bargain.
The only issue I have with these cameras is the reported battery life.
I remember paying £7 for 4 high power Philips AA and I only got 12 shots before all 4 were dead!
I now use the Uniross 15 min rechargeables and they last really well.
Definitely get some NIMH batteries if you get this camera.
Sainsbury had a neat little charger with 2x 2000mah batteries included
for just a fiver yesterday - worth a look.0
