  • Ooooh lots of new flyladies - welcome!

I've been very productive today but seem to have done completely different activities than the lists suggest  I've been distracted but in a good way so lots has been done and I'm happy. Thanks all for the virtual flylady kick up the bum with a fluffy mule - it works:p

Thank you for the birthday messages for danceson1. He has had a good day and a few visitors. My aunt said my LR looked bigger (I think she meant tidyer) (thanks to this thread)

Just off to sort out the kitchen again
  • Hi everyone, new to this thread but have been reading for a long time now.

I recently changed my hours of work and dropped them from 37.5 to 34 and condensed that so that I only work 4 days a week (mon - thurs) and have Fridays off to try and get the house organised. Problem is that I literally spend all Friday cleaning, well once I have come back from the 6 mile walk I do with my two lovely Border Collies.

I take the dogs out at 7.20am and am normally home by about 9.15am, grab a quick cuppa and start - trouble is I don't finish until about 4pm and generally don't stop for lunch etc. So I thought, let's have a look at the list and see what I can do each evening and use some of the really helpful tips please put here.

This morning, once I had finished with my face wipe, I used it to wipe around the sink and taps - it looks lovely so really pleased I did it, this evening has been a bit of a disaster though - only managed to get the dinner cooked and about an hours worth of ironing done so not a great start to my 'let's free up some Friday' routine, but I guess every little helps!!! :D Will try harder tomorrow evening!!

Thanks for all the posts, they have been really helpful in providing hints and tips for keeping on top of things and I love reading them :j

    Getting ready for tomorrow..

I have fat club in the morning and I'm seriously debating whether to just get weighed or stay for the meeting too as if I stay it takes up my whole morning and I then get nothing done. BUT I do better if I stay... I'll see how I feel in the morning I think...

Not done too badly today, just a few bits left which will take minutes. And the LR list looks manageable - I'll add to it clearing the coffee table and window ledge.

Monday ~ Kitchen and Dining Room
    Level Two
    mop floor
    Level three
    Dust those cobwebs away

Tuesday ~ Living Room, hall & stairs
    Level One

    [strike]Clear and hoover floor[/strike]
15 mins hotspot clearance - bottom of stairs, [strike]window ledge and coffee table [/strike]- getting there!
    Level Two
[strike]Wipe sofas and hoover all the bits from down the sides!
    Dust all dusty bits[/strike]
    Level Three
    Wipe tvs, remotes, phones, etc.
[strike]Hoover under furniture you can safely move[/strike]
    Clean lampshades

Challenges for this week! Edited to suit me...

    [strike]Sort out freezer[/strike]
Write at least 1 set of Christmas cards
    [strike]Wrap at least 3 presents[/strike]
Post any cards/presents that need it.
Put clothes away as soon as they are dry so it's not glaring at you all the time.
Sort photos for cards, and sheet music for paperchains

    Morning All

I've got a busy night tonight which I didn't really plan on, SW then I'm taking my mate to pick up a bike for his daughter so I probably won't be home until about 6.30-7. I've been awake since 3.45 and feel shattered but I couldn't get back to sleep - stupid cold - at least it's on its way out now though I think. I'm now feeling as if I'm running out of time to do stuff before I finish work. I need to wrap about 40 presents before 17th when I'm on a Beaver/Cub sleepover all weekend, sort out a children's quiz and make a load of playdough - although I'm thinking I might ask my mate to do that for me. I'm away this weekend to Chester so won't be able to do anything then and I need to write Christmas cards as well. I also need to go shopping at some point this week as I've said I'll take stuff in to decorate biscuits in golden time on Friday. Tomorrow night I'm having my hair cut straight from work then DS has football training so I'll probably get home around 6.30 then as well.

Oh well, never mind, I suppose I'd better get up and do something!

    Have a good day all

    Hugs

juliejim hope your feeling better soon and that you get a chance to rest properly over christmas.

I didn't manage to sleep the best last night i think the whole SS meeting is playing on my mind, fingers crossed it will be finished with today and only one meeting is needed.

Today it will be spent flying with MrA coming later, need to get the car cleaned out/washed and filled with fuel for tomorrow. :D
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.

Juliejim - hugs to you. Sounds like you're soooo busy! Hope you get a few moments to yourself at some time xx

The rest of my list looks like this:

    Challenges for this week!
    Wrap at least 3 presents
Post any cards/presents that need it.

That should be doable but before I do that I need to: walk dogs; hospice, work, pop to shops for tissues, soothers etc for DS who's rather choked up. Also need to walk stripes and I think we're going to get VERY wet! xx

All clean clothes put away except the boys, Rhys is still sleeping.:eek::eek:

Kitchen bin emptied, dw emptied and reloaded, wm back on, dirty clothes all gathered up, kitchen table cleared, recycling out, wet washing put on rads, fire lit. Think i'll grab some breakfast and then make a start in the back hall..:D

Dusty i hope you DS is feeling better soon and that you both manage to get some rest today.
