  • I took my purple woollen coat back today it was reduced from £55 to £20 but I felt and looked like a giant grape in it LOL

I was going to pop in tomorrow and see if they had any of those coats in. Saw it in a mag and it looked lovely. Never occurred to me that I might look like a grape in it though

I found some of the new clothing coupons today and have a couple of spares if anyone needs them, pm if needed. EDIT: ALL GONE BUT WILL POST AGAIN IF I GET MORE, GOING TO TESCO AGAIN 2MORROW!
Didn't have time to use any today (takes ages to work out the maths and find stuff you like, then sort out your coupons, then buy other groceries to pad out your total, doesn't it!). So I just went to the newly-opened pharmacy and blagged a 'goody bag' with yet more toiletries in it (think it may only be available in new pharmacies as that's what the letter inside said).

I shall be trying to use 4 different types of clothing coupon in the next day or two, along with a kids clothes till-spit (I think it works without a clothing purchase but hey, I've got the vouchers and got the kids so I may as well use it on a legit clothing purchase!).

I will let you know how I get on, I always go to a cashier so you never quite know till you hand over the coupon wad and see the look on their face!

  • I went out of my way to a large Extra store today to do a clothes shop with my accumulated clothes vouchers (QK, blue, Spring). Was going to do a Welshy :D and buy £35 women's clothes and £25 children's to get maximum benefit. Even picked up a goody bag from the Pharmacy counter on my way round the store whilst hunting for more H&B leaflets. I think the Pharmacy ladies felt sorry for me as there were no leaflets left anywhere, all they found was one £1 healthcare coupon which I gratefully accepted ;) . Goody bag has a big tin of soup, a lipbalm, some tissues and various other bits and a few coupons!

Anyway, carefully engineered my clothes shop to the required amounts, got my groceries I needed, then found a lady SA (no young males anywhere) who was lovely and chatty and took my coupons and scanned them all. BUT unfortunately she had to hand me the second £6 QK and a £7 Spring one back to me as they would not scan. It turns out some of the clothing items I had picked up were in the sale but not marked as such!! Some socks scanned for £1.50 instead of £3 and 2 camis scanned for £2.50 each instead of £5 each.

Am still very happy with my £70+ worth of goodies for £15, let's hope the kids like their new stuff and that my bits fit as well.

This happened to me at the till the other day, it would not accept a £10 off because I hadn't spent £50 (due to reductions in price).

Not one to miss out on a freebie, I asked the till girl to please scan my £12 men's jeans again, then after she'd finished serving me could I then race back and get another pair (rather than hold everyone up?).

Yep, no problem, so she could then scan my £10 off coupon. The people behind were well impressed with my coupons (I had clothing ones and £12-spend of H&B coupons/BOGOFs too, all in one transaction because I wanted to use a double-pointer too!).

BTW I didn't want 2 pairs of men's jeans, one pair will be going back!

  • Wow, that was very quick thinking on your part, well done. I was so happy to have found a friendly SA and kept her chatting, and whilst packing I could not keep an eye on the til as well. Was in enough of a flap already having to find the Healthcare coupons for my Extra bars (and box of Ibuprofen to take it over £8) as well as the clothing ones I had prepared, PLUS the Daily Mail £4, but also forgot to hand over my Double Points coupon.

Never mind, might have to do another clothes spending spree, as at this rate it is not costing me very much ;) .

Edit: Did not even get any H&B today, as I was waiting for the new offers. Thanks for the list on the H&B thread, will have to make H&B plans now ;-).

  • Managed to get £51 worth of clothes today for £28. Had one of the £6 quit vouchers left and a couple of the spring vouchers. SA said they wouldn't all go through so I asked her to try them and they did! Amazed!
