Very costly item not arrived from Amazon

I placed an order 26th Nov. It's now 3rd Dec & the order still hasn't arrived.
Payment has been taken. Payment was on my credit card. Item is a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 - so is therefore very costly. I think the cheapest one is £400.
Where do i stand, as i doubt they would just accept me saying i've not yet received it when we're talking about £400.

They won't, they will investigate it to find out where it is & if a reasonable number of days has passed and the courier considers it lost they will offer a remedy.
Jumping the gun a bit here huh

It's not been that long yet give them a chance. In reality its only been 6 working days. Considering the time of year its still well within time limits. Check how it was sent and and check any tracking.'The More I know about people the Better I like my Dog'

Thanks guys.
Not really.Jumping the gun a bit here huh
Items tend to come within a week 99% of the time. I know they CAN take longer .......... WHICH IS WHY I'M NOT POINTING THE FINGER & THEREFORE NOT JUMPING THE GUN.
* I hope you're not one of these who takes capital letters as "shouting". Capitals are capitals and shouting is shouting.
I'm simply looking into what i should do, nothing more or less. Answer has come back to check into the tracker & wait a while longer - so that's fair enough. If it was a £2 item i wouldn't be as concerned.
So no, i'm not jumping the gun.0 -
Was it actually from Amazon or a 3rd party Amazon Marketplace seller?0

Amazon ALWAYS* gives an estimate of a delivery date when an order is placed.
You ARE* jumping the gun.
*capitals are used here for emphasis.0 -
THe op isnt really jumping the gun, Amazon is excellent for deliveries, if I hadnt had it after six days (assuming it has been despatched) then I would be wondering to.
Go back into your account and check the estimated delivery date, and raise a query. They are normally excellent in resolving issues0 -

On a consumer rights forum enquiring as to where you stand legally.... after 5 working days (4 working days if amazon dispatched the Monday)... no, ofcourse your not jumping the gun a little
.
Although in the same situation i'd be curious as to where it is at this stage (bearing in mind Amazon provide delivery estimates only and are not in breach of contract for non-performance), at most i'd check online tracking or enquire as to how it was dispatched.
So are you jumping the gun? Yes.0 -

ofcourse you would, you'd be wondering how it was dispatched, when it was dispatched, or even has it been dispatched, is there a problem with your order..... not my parcel hasn't arrived after such a short time period so what are my legal rights & what are Amazons legal obligations in this case0 -
I think some people in this thread are jumping the gun, but i'm certainly not one of them.
I missed the part where i said where do i stand legally. I don't see any edit marks, so i guess i never actually said it. Although please feel free to prove me wrong.
No, what i said was where do i stand. There's very likely been a misunderstanding of what i meant. What was meant was where do i stand - "what am i to do". Perhaps i should've put that instead. I wasn't looking to go down the legal route as it's early days.
And as hcb says - Amazon are usually spot on with their deliveries. I don't think they've ever delivered beyond 3 days for me. Never mind a full week (Saturday may not be classed as a working day, but it's most certainly a postal day).
I'm not sure whether i bought direct from Amazon or 3rd party to be perfectly honest - i'll have to look into it.
So i say again, no, i wasn't jumping the gun ... unlike some people here, but i guess it makes them feel better to constantly accuse. Whatever floats their boat. I see it all the time here, and not just on my threads. Same people, same accusing manner, every time. Yet it's never them, always the thread starter. Hmmm.0
