    Glad they were able to give you advice. If your LL does evict you (or threaten to), that too may increase your housing priority with the LA as you'd be homeless (or at at risk of becoming homeless). There'd be no question of your being "intentionally homeless", so this could be better in the long run than giving-in your notice.
