I used to charge £20 for doing the house, sometimes it took an hour sometimes two depending on what day I went (went twice a week) or whether the children had been in residence lol. I am VERY good at my job and I clean things not expected of me but I love cleaning...i found the £20 helped me a lot as baby was only a week old and I took him with me but it was a bit hard on me physically at that time.

I am now back in my factory job but would love to do cleaning again so anyone in suffolk want a cleaner,i am all yours.
    Thanks

    hi all

Well i have to say my hubby does the majority of the housework around the house. we have a 3 bedroom with 3 kiddies aswell. As he is constantly in work and we never seem to get round to everything . We have therefore got a lady who pops in once a week for 2 hours and charges £14.00. For this she does all the flours, complete bathroom and kitchen and hoovers all round. Don,t get me wrong might think we can do this but believe me this sure frees up time for us all especially with our little one as he requires additional help with a lot of school work.

    Hope this info helps.

  • Hi,

I had a cleaner in my flat (very large 2 bed, 2 bath flat)and paid £7.50 per hour, nominally for 2 hours a week. We agreed before hand that if took her less than the two hours to complete the list, she's get paid the £15 anyway. List included wiping down kitchen, cleaning both bathrooms, hoover everywhere, dust everywhere, finish off dishes - these were done every week. I had another list she did if she had time, like change bedding, clean fridge, clean windows etc . If there was nothing else on a list and she had time, she would do things like clean the kitchen cupboards! She was excellent value, worked as a cleaner in a supermarket, and she suggested £7.50 as an excellent hourly rate for her to earn. Occasionally she'd leave after an hour and a half, which I never had a problem with as she often did extra. Worth getting someone you get on well with, also who lives nearby. My cleaner could walk to mine in 5 mins, and we used to give her a life home if it was raining! I think little things like that (and buying a nice bottle of wine and box of chocs at chirstmas!) made her feel valued and that we really appreciated what she did.
We provided all cleaning materials etc, and left her to it.
