Groupon deal not delivering

Hello,

I wondered if anyone else has had problems with Groupon vouchers - I bought a Cloud Memory Foam mattress ages ago and it still hasn't turned up, and customer services are failing to respond to phone calls/emails.

It seems like some of the companies getting business through Groupon can't actually keep up with the demand and customers are left in a black hole - regarding getting their money back.

I would hesitate before buying anything through Groupon again.

Most of the things I have brought through Groupon have worked out ok. I had one that didn't and Groupon were really good and I got a full refund. I just rang up Groupon customer services and explained that the deal didn't work and they refunded the whole amount.
• Hi - I am waiting for the same product - ordered a week on Sunday and still not here. I suspect/ hope it will arrive.

Groupon seem to be having some problems with 3rd party fulfillment, mainly because the reps who sell to the businesses get paid more if the deal sells more, so they try to push them as far as possible.
Before I buy any Groupon, I always check to see how many have been sold - if it looks too many, I don't bother.

Groupon also take a 50% cut so think about it how can a business operate long term if they then have to give 50% of the sale price plus they have there overheads too and then making or buying in the product etc.

I bought a deal last week, stated in the listing that there were limited quantites of each style/colour. Checked again the next day and saw 2000+ had been sold (and they ran the deal the next day too). So I made sure I was sitting at PC once deal became active and got the style I wanted, which had dissapeared the next day! Posted out the next day.

I hope everyones good turn up soon!

I am having problems with matress order with matchingbedrooms.com

I chased up my groupon mattress order by email , they had ignored by first 2 emails, but responded to the 3rd one with the below.

Is this a standard email, which is just to fob me off for another 10 days?

Some other internet http://www.shobby.co.uk/shop,5096.html shows more complaints?

I would like people advise on thsi, how do one pursue a claim for this through paypal?

I have also contacted groupon but no response yet?

Hi - Sorry that you haven't been updated regarding your order I am afraid the reason for the delay is due to a high volume of orders, and also because our delivery service which is city link can only take a certain number of deliveries a day, and as there are 5000 orders it is delaying things, because we can only send out a 100 at a time. I hope you appreciate this explanation, also we do not store the mattresses ourselves, they come from the manufacturers who can also sometimes delay things. However id say give it another 7-10 days or so at the least, and the delivery should be via city link and you should receive a tracking number at least 48 hours prior to delivery, we are aiming to deliver all mattresses before Christmas.
Kind Regards
• Interesting to see the company bother to respond to you - they have ignored my emails requesting an update about the delivery and a request for a refund as they haven't bothered getting back to me.
This is my first 'deal' with Groupon and I am out of pocket to the tune of £174.
• matchingbedrooms.com mattress deal is almost certainly a scam!
Think about it...If 5000 people paid £179 for a Mattress, this gang have got away with £895,000. After all this time, you shouldn't be phoning them.. you should be phoning Trading Standards, Directgov Consumer services, the press and the Police!

The government service Consumer Direct offers advice on 08454 04 05 06 or via the Directgov website. The ASA is also investigating Groupon. Write to them.
If you go to Unit 2, Mainstream Way (see google earth!), I very much doubt if anyone there has even heard of these matching bedroom cowboys... Please have a look if you live in Brum! It looks like we've all been had...
• There seems to be a lot of unhappy customers with Matching Bedrooms via a Groupon deal:

Ordered a matress via a Groupon deal 2 months ago hoping to get it in time for Xmas. Told they deliver within 2-4 weeks. Still have not received the matress after 2 months. We've spoken to them three times and they've told us it's packed and ready for delivery. They are utter liars. We've emailed customer service many times too but they don't reply. Some people are reporting they put the phone down on them too. They've taken a huge amount of bulk money upfront from the Groupon deal including a delivery charge so must be pocketing the interest and not delivering the product. Clearly there is a scam going on. I urge you to stay away from this company.

We are trying to get our money back, it seems like we are not the only ones, take a look at shobby.co.uk/shop,5096.html.

What can we do about companies like this, I know they can deliver when they want really but the whole customer service and the way they are treating their customers and their money is an absolute disgrace?
• Hi
I too have ordered this same groupon mattress deal. Was sent a tracking number and delivery date was supposed to be 28th November- I rang city link when mattress did not arrived to be told they have lost my mattress and that I need to contact Matching Bedrooms.
I have been trying to ring Matching Bedrooms to find its constantly engaged and when I finally do get through to them they put you on hold and then cut you off. I find their service disgusting and I am in no doubt that this is a scam. I will be contacting groupon to try and get a refund.
