Groupon deal not delivering
Comments

I too am still waiting for mattress from 27th October, every time I phone I get another story followed by a promise I will received within the week. I have tried to get refund from Groupon who say they will only refund when I send them email from mathchingbedrooms to say they can not send order. I have already stated to them that I can hardly get a reply on phone never mind getting an email reply. I have told Groupon that if I don't get refund I will be reporting them to Trading Standards, but as far as I am concerned they don't seem to care as they have the money, I certainly will not be buying anything from Groupon in future as surely they must know this is a scam and are doing nothing.0

You DO have rights under the
Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000. Call Directgov Consumer helpline NOW!!
It really is time to demand Police involvement. DO NOT LET THESE CROOKS GET AWAY WITH YOUR MONEY.
And Groupon must share some of the blame. They have so far not replied to my 2 emails. We must all now write to the parent company.
NB!! The Groupon website is owned and operated by MyCityDeal Ltd, office registered at No1 Liverpool Street, London, EC2M 7QDT.
On the Groupon 'About us' page they say, 'We only sell stuff we want to buyA great price is only half the battle - it’s also got to be a great product or service. Between our top-rated business partners and unbeatable prices, you should feel comfortable venturing out and trying something new - just because it’s featured on Groupon UK. We want Groupon UK to be an addiction you can feel good about.'
BUT... right at the bottom, where nobody looks, it says this...
Limitation of liability
Although tough control mechanisms are in place, errors on the website may occur. MyCityDeal is in no way responsible for any damage or loss incurred due to errors made by groupon.co.uk. The website contains links to other websites. MyCityDeal is in no way responsible for the content provided on these websites.'
Totally cancelling out the 'feelgood' crap higher up the page.
Could you steal from someone and get away with it in court by saying, 'I am in no way responsible for myself when calling myself by a different name.'?????
ACT NOW!!!

Kevro, if you write your emails like your posts here, then I don't think I would reply either.
What police involvement are you suggesting?0 -
What is your problem???
After 2 months of fobbing off and blatant lies, my anger on behalf of all these other people is fully justified.
Police involvement...???
Well, I always believed that one of the jobs of the Police is to arrest and bring to trial people or companies who steal other people's money. Geddit??
Best wishes!0 -
Hi guys,
I have finally received my mattress from Matching Bedrooms that was ordered on the 24th of October with a Groupon voucher. After weeks of aggravation (because I was told the delivery would take 2-3 weeks) I almost cried when it came today...
If you have not received your mattress yet, I recommend that you stop the delivery and ask for your money back and invest it in a good mattress.
The mattress came rolled up in plastic and it was delivered by one guy. Since the mattress has been rolled up for weeks (months?) it is not in good shape. The edges are completely ruined from the fold and if you are laying close to the edge you are tilted outwards as to fall off the mattress - the "Reinforced edge support" is non-existent or perhaps ruined from the fold.
When you sit on the edge of the mattress, your pretty much fall through half way as if it was a broken mattress.
Also, since it was rolled, the mattress is not flat, you can feel the bend under your back. I turned it around for the worst part to be under my legs but you can still feel the uneven surface. The edges are completely crooked and uneven.
By the way, the mattress is not the high-quality mattress that you saw on the picture. As a matter of fact, there is nothing high-quality about it. It is a regular spring pocket mattress that you can probably get down the street from your local furniture store for about the same price that you paid via Groupon.
I wish I could cut it open to see if there is really "Several layers of luxury fillings" because it certainly does not feel like that.
The "High quality woven damask fabric" is pretty much polyester/plastic and I cannot feel any traces of fabric (unless there is plastic fabric that I did not know about?).
One notable thing is that there is no link to this product (mattress) on the Matching Bedrooms website. The only way I could find it is via their search function. So it appears to me that hey are not selling this product under the regular price. This seems to be strategically placed only for Groupon sales.
The delivery in itself has been a pain. First contact was to tell me that I was not home for the delivery when they attempted the first delivery. There was no information prior to that. Second contact is when I called them to reschedule the delivery and we scheduled it for the following week.
So, I took a day off from work and was sitting home waiting as there is no time range. At 4 pm I got worried and called them. 30 minutes later I got to speak to a customer representative who told me that my package "did not make it on the van that day." Because of this I lost one day of vacation and have to take yet another day for the new delivery.
So, ca. 2 months after the order. I have used up 2 vacation days out of 20 (10% of my vacation) and I have a horrible cheap mattress that is crooked. Anyway I look at it, I cannot help by feeling scammed or fooled.
I am a long term online shopper but this has been the worst experience so far. I have believed in Groupon deals but majority of the times had a hassle with them. Today I have contacted them and asked for a full refund.
I have plenty of pictures to add if anyone would like to see.0 -
I bought a Groupon deal for some kids snugglewraps on 6th December. It stated that they were from Matchingbedrooms.com, although it turns out that when you order them it is via Readysteadybed.co.uk. Anyway, the money for the postage was taken out of my account immediately and their site states that delivery will be within 7-10 days unless they are awaiting stock in which case they will let you know. I have only received an email from them with my order number and to date, no snugglewraps have arrived. I telephoned the company on 20th December asking where my order was and left a message on their answerphone. I have also emailed them twice, receiving a standard automated reply each time. This morning I decided to ask Groupon for my money back and they have just emailed back saying that it can take up to 4 weeks for them to dispatch goods. Well, that's no good to me as it's over 4 weeks since I ordered and the items were for Christmas presents anyway.
I'm slightly mad and a bit worried about the status of this company as the automated email response I received from them today states that they are on Christmas holiday and will return 3rd January.
Rant over now - needed to get this off my chest, but any advice on how to nudge Groupon into giving me a refund would be much appreciated. Of course, I then have to go about retrieving my postage money from readysteadybed.co.uk or matchingbedrooms.com.0 -
Dont waste your time with Groupon if you paid by visa debt card or credit card over £100 you ask your bank for your money back. 28 days is long enough for a item to be delivered0

There are many posts on this site from people who have had problems with Groupon "partners" and hassle in getting a refund from Groupon. They may offer you credit to be used on a.n.other deal. I found it difficult, raised a dispute on my credit card and got a refund immediately. I would suggest you do the same."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

I did pay on credit card for the Groupon Voucher but it was only £12 or so. I then paid for delivery directly to matchingbedrooms.com or readysteadybed.co.uk through paypal. Delivery was around £10. I'm fortunate in that I haven't spent hundreds like some of the people who ordered mattresses, but even so it's the principle of the thing I'm annoyed about. I am only one of many, no doubt, so this company must be raking it in on the delivery charges. I guess I'll just have to hold out and may eventually receive my snugglewraps. I'll just have to tell the kids that Father Christmas forgot to leave them and came back. Mind you, it might be from the Easter Bunny by the time I actually get them.0
