Morning ladies, I'm back in the land of living. Have days worth of the thread to catch up on. Huge hugs for everyone.
Beth, a special hug for you
My niece is home:j:j:j. She is still very fragile but is getting stronger every day. She is doing so well on her crutches , can manage about 12ft now which is fantastic. It certainly puts life into perspective when something like this happens.
Thank you for all your kind words of support whilst we were at a very dark place when it first happened , I'm sorry I couldn't come back and update myself as often as I would have liked to.
Now then........ jesus its cold here . My poor nose was like ice when I was walking woofer this morn.
The sun has come out now so hoping it will warm up even just a little bit. We do have a slight breeze so have put some washing out. Hopefully it will dry slightly and just be finished off in the drier.
Seriously need to start thinking about Christmas:eek: usually have most things done by now.....never mind still 3 weeks to go plenty of time;).
OS today , to clean the kitchen. Dd and her friends were in there last night making pizzas and all I keep seeing is sweetcorn on the counters.:mad:Have beef stew and dumplings tonight, nice winter food and apple crumble for pud with lots of custard.Cant go wrong with that.
My ds2 is home tomorrow from uni:j:j:j. Can't wait . He is catching the 3.48 AM train from Swansea:eek::eek: and should arrive at our train station about half ten. So must remember to make his bed up . He has to do a weeks work experience in a school so he thought he would kill 2 birds with 1 stone and come home and do it at the junior school across the road from us. He will be home for just over a month.
Am now going to grab a :coffee: and do an hours catch up on here
Will come back later once caught up and update where ever I need to .
:grouphug::grouphug:
EDIT to just say Am in court with Andrew next Wednesday. His mother is still with the piece of sh*t but half her house now seems to be at mine . Hopefully they will both be back in their house by the end of next week whilst the brute is spending his christmas at HMP for scumbagsPaul Walker , in my dreams;)0 -
just explained to ds (hubby let him lie in *rollseyes*) that he is only allowed one choc from his calender a day. then when they are all gone thats when santa comes. his response... "oh. more chocolate then mummy please" :rotfl: he is getting excited but i dont think he really knows why other than he wants Edward (thomas train) and gets to see thomas:rotfl: we have booked for him to go on thomas at didcot. he will get to meet santa as well. i'm not sure who is looking forward to it more... him or hubby!
just put some washing on and had a wipe around the kitchen. feeling in a fairly good mood. starting to feel christmassy. when i feel like this i start to wish that the crappy mood would just !!!!!! right off for good. excuse my language there
need to do a major cull in toys. hubbys family have gone overboard again as usual and we dont have room for the toys he has already. he will leave some there or swap them with some of his old ones up there but still need to find more space. other than charity shops where else can i donate them??
saturday we will drop ds off with someone and go christmas shopping. hopefully then it will all be done. need to get the girls who look after him a present. thinking ds can make some little treats for them. i used to love the homemade gifts from the children. i still have a couple of mugs and a neckless made some of the children i looked after. any ideas welcomed..."I have learnt that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one""You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”Maya Angelou0 -
Good Morning All!
Cold start here today. have been working on report but finally sent it off! Need to tackle more church-related paperwork today but fancied dropping in here first!
Had three days away at start of week - family funeral then looking after DGD on the strike day. DS back in hospital - clearly OD has had long term effect which is a bit worrying to say the least,.
need to catch up a bit on here to see what youi've all been up to lately.
Wish I could wave magic wand and find all jobs done - particularly those which have been hanging over me for some time now. Would love to be more like DH - if he has something to do he gets it done at earliest opportunity - I tend to decide how late I can leave it...and then not start until last possible minute!
JackieO - I do hope you get the blanket finished in time!
Oh well, better get a shift on...
take care Everyone!
Oh well, better get a shift on!Resolution:

Morning all!
Not been in for so long, think OH not starting work till 10am and the tiny pink have kept me busy during my usual mse time lol! Logged on and before I knew what I was doing I'd ordered dd1 and dd2 some shoes from New Look - for anyone who wants a bargain, have a look at the grabbit thread! Thought I'd best make my way here sharpish before I found I'd bought any more 'little extras' for their chrimbo pressies!
Life is pretty much as usual, chasing round after the kids and OH, cooking and baking happily, seeing friends, and absolutely loving being on maternity leave! So looking foward to not having to work over Christmas this year, and even better OH is actually off on the big day, being a chef this hasn't happened in all the time I've known him!
Anyway, OS stuff going on here today will involve chopping and freezing a ton of veg bought as part of Aldi's super 6, digging a couple of packs of apples from the freezer and stewing up then portioning for dd4 - if she's lucky she can have some with raspberries too, bushes are still producing a fair bit of fruit, I know they're Autumn Bliss, but still! Also the usual dw, wm, td, bm and yoghurt rounds! Must make an apple braid and some iced buns for the monkeys, so that they don't die of starvation over the weekend! Also pizza for dinner tonight, so need to throw dough in for that this aft before I pop out to meet a friend for coffee, and whizz over to another friend who can't get out at the mo and drop some shopping, best get her list soon lol! Somewhere along the line I need to polish off the ironing that is plonked on the dining room table, and bung the salt dough decs that dd3, dd1 and I made in the dehydrator so that we can paint them Sat eve when the kids get back from their day out with their dad.
Lunches today: pasta salad, plums, hm fruit winders, choc traybakes for packed lunches. Spicy lentil soup (yay to finding my Claudia Roden cook book!) for me and OH (still giggling at fb comments last night ladies, I think he is one Welshy we shall have to spare!)
Dinner: pizza and salad - must make some couscous up and marinate some more olives!
Right, will go bung the bm on again and swap some washing around then coffee and a catch up here!
Much love to all xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Hi all; just catching up with the tail end of yesterday's thread.:o
(((HUGS))) for Jools DD aww, bless, it's horrible at the time, but hopefully in time to come, she'll look back with a smile.:o (Unlike me – if I passed my first bf in the street even now, I'd be tempted to break every bone in his body).
Topsyturphy lots of posi-vibes for Woofer; hope it turns out not to be anything nasty.:o
Hoppy Birdday to JackieO's Shelley and to Mr Redruby:bdaycake::bdaycake:
JG I had to laugh at Roo getting hiccups. I can't imagine that, somehow!:D Still good to hear that Roo is so active.:o
Hilstep (((HUGS))) little toerags, pity someone didn't pick them up and put them into the lit bin! Sorry to hear that you're so poorly, too.:(
Mr LW's at w*rk this morning, then he's got the afternoon off, and is on leave Monday and Tuesday too, as he has to use up this year's allocation. It's his birthday on Monday, he'll be ter-twiddly-umpty-two, so we'll be going out for dins Monday night.
So... I may not get chance to see the Daily thread for the next few days; I shall therefore leave a pile of (((HUGS))) and posi-vibes here for you to help yourselves to as needed.:beer:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Morning all
Happy birthday to Shelley and Mr Redruby :bdaycake:
((((beemuzed))) and anyone else who needs one.
I didn't get to post yesterday, busy day. I was at a conference in the day, then went for dinner with my parents, brother and nan cos my brother is going off travelling the world next week for 6 months, then I went to my old schoolfriend/colleague's surprise 30th birthday party! Phew!!
The party was good, birthday girl kinda knew there was something planned but not where. Toyboy was there, and I have to admit I did feel smug when I saw that he has put on weight since going off to uni (at least a stone, maybe 2!)
:rotfl:. Also there was this guy there who was 2 years above us in school who I used to have the biggest crush on when I was about 13. He is friends with my friend and her older brother. I am FB friends with him but had never really spoken to him before. But he asked me all about my holiday, and said he had followed my adventures, and I got a kiss on the cheek from him at the end of the night :smileyhea. Although he isn't quite as good looking as he used to be, my inner 13 year old was very happy :rotfl:
Today is my work's Christmas Do
we will shortly be off to the pub for a drink, and then to the local golf club for a meal, and then back into town for a boogie! Looking forward to it.
Have a fab day all

I just had tyo post to agree with Tru about Jeremy Clarkson, what he said was very tasteless but obviously tongue in cheek, all the hoo ha about it is such an over reaction.

I have spent the morning at my mum's sorting out her garden for her, looks much better. Then the past hour trying to get my finances in check. I've let things slip at bit and need to get focused again.
I think we've paid a good chunk off our debts this year, just want to keep everything up to date which i haven't. Spread sheets are not my fort!! Hopefully i can get my head in gear and start working to clear everything again.Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500
Debt payments 2012 £433.270
