I car-shared on the way to a dancing competition yesterday and my car-sharer gave me £16.50 for petrol and parking meter- can this go in the pot (it was unexpected- I only offered her a lift a couple of days before)?

Sounds like we potters have had a busy weekend!

Think my target may be £200 for a new ballroom dress (provided it doesn't get diverted to more necessary but less exciting things).

My late aunt used to have a rule of thumb that your shopping would come to £1x the number of items you've got. It holds up better than you'd think (unless buying meat or booze).

What a brilliant idea! Must try it then I can talk in the queue as well :rotfl: Thank you! x

PS I don't see why the car share money can't be potted. It was an unexpected contribution from a friend, that's all. I wish I could dance...a new ballroom dress sounds wonderful....

  • Right, I've been away for a few days (night shifts/ weddings and birthdays).

I have added £7 to the pot - £5 for not buying the QVC beauty TSV and another £2 for using up 2 of my beauty products.

Also adding another £2.28 in change that I have collected over the past few days.

So a total of £9.28 into the pot for me today.

    HI CLAIRELH

    What about plastic bags!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I remember when my daughter was young she could get through a pair of shoes in a fortnight :eek: but I have my revenge she has two daughters and they love shoes:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    I have 3 daughters - I'm doooomed!

Desperate Housewife - thanks for the tip, I'm the other side of Nottingham so Arnold is a bit out of my way. But will certainly keep it in mind if I am ever that way.

Just found 20p in the bottom of my bag so that's my first lot in the pot for the day.

Due to an unforseen circumstance at the weekend, I had to rip open the tape of my pot and take all my £2, £1 and 50ps out.

It's payday today, so I will be replacing the £10 that I took.

Whoopie! I now have my tin! Can't wait to get started now. I shall be scouring every nook and cranny for stray pennies! Chatted with hubs about it this morning, and he thinks it's a brilliant idea!! :j He'll also be adding to the pot, so we're off and running now. Can't wait to get my number.

Hope everyone has been having a fab Monday so far. x

Not to worry, Delilah, at least it was there to help you out, though it's good to hear you're putting it back in..for your sake! ;)

DH found 20p when he came out of the shop today, I soon re-housed it. :grinheart

Hi mumof3plusoh and so sorry to hear about your DS not doing quite so well as he'd have hoped, but c-c isn't his best anyway especially at such a high level. Encourage him (as if you need telling) to concentrate more on his favourites!

smartgirl5, would you please pop your No on your signature for me?Thanks.

Enjoy the day folks, if you can save do so, if not look ahead to when you can.
