    It seems to work for me, RedGoose, I always try to do a quick addition in my head as I load the conveyor belt too by rounding prices up to the nearest 50p. That way I'm pleasantly surprised when the bill comes to slightly less than my imagined total :j I can, however, come a bit unstuck if I start a conversation in the queue 'cos I can't add up as well as talk! :rotfl:My OH knows not to talk to me!

    My late aunt used to have a rule of thumb that your shopping would come to £1x the number of items you've got. It holds up better than you'd think (unless buying meat or booze).
