*Vistaprint Warning*

Three years ago I purchased some business cards with Vistaprint. It now appears that they have been taking money out of my account with their partners programme VPRewards. Apparently it picks up your details from their website which ties you in to a rewards programme that you are unaware of.
They managed to take £18.95 from my account since April of this year with a debit card that had expired in 2008. I would have thought that this was impossible but according to my bank they can still receive payment if this card had been used on the original purchase.
My wife thought I had set up a payment online with a subscription service and was unaware of where these payments were going until I queried it with my bank.
I have contacted Vistaprint and received this reply;
Thanks for contacting Vistaprint, where it's easy to make an impression for less. We do apologies for the inconvenience that you may have experienced with us. You may contact the vp reward service on 0845 672 2002 to have an explanation about the case and a refund. Please feel free to contact us if you have any additional questions.
I rang the above number, to be told by an automated service that my account had been cancelled. No-one to talk to about their shoddy service, refund or how they manage to deceive people in the first place. They then had the cheek to email a customer survey to me, which I filled in with my complaint and of course, never to receive a reply.
My bank has managed to refund my account from August onwards and has blocked any future transactions being taken out. They too are struggling to communicate with the company.
Do a search for "VPRewards" on Google and see how many other people have been scammed by Vistaprint
Please check your accounts, looking for VPRewards and think twice about using Vistaprint.

This has been posted on MSE numerous times before. It's not fraud or a scam, but it is a very bad way of doing business, as so many people don't realise that one tiny tick box is signing them up to something they have to pay monthly for.

Thanks for the links. For so many people to have been duped by this company it was obviously a very clever ruse to disguise the tick box to sign up to this rip off scheme.
Lesson learnt...Never use Vistaprint again!!0 -
I ordered some cards months ago, all I get is constant e.mails giving me the good news, but still no cards...Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

I too have been fleeced by VPrewards. I spoke to my bank, and discovered what reoccurring transactions were, but was horrified to discover that by Vista prints own admission I clicked on a web page and that was enough for them to be authorized to fleece me for several years. On my bank account there is nothing to signify it is anything other than a deb (not s/o or d/d ) not a hint that this is a 'reoccurring transaction'.
Despite the fact that my bank card has changed three times and I changed my email address,my bank continued to authorise it. The banks could do their bit to highlight this fraudulent practice, not enable it as they do. There is nothing that makes it stand out on a statement as being anything other than a debit card withdrawal. There really should be.
They sent me a visual representation of a web page which apparently I clicked on and this indicated I wanted VPRewards. The 10 quid cash back I signed up for, which was the same page that authorized them to debit my bank account, was also refused. It should be illegal....that they can get away with it is outrageous. I now have been offered a (very partial) payment but they want to know by Thurs. If I accept that piddling amount, does that mean I can't try and get more?
This is part of what they wrote to me:
Your membership records indicate that you agreed to try VP Rewards when you clicked on a banner ad presented on the Vista Print website after an order was placed. This banner offered a £10 Cash-Back and also a 30 free trial with VP Rewards.
Additionally, by accepting the trial membership, you agreed to be enrolled and that after the trial membership period, you would be billed the program fees.
A welcome e-mail was sent to the e-mail address you provided at the time of enrollment This e-mail would have also explained the terms of the membership as well as the benefits you are entitled to.
A second email would also have been sent to the same email address within 3 weeks of the free trial period, giving the option to opt out of this membership prior to the billing date given on this email. If this had been done then no membership fee would have been charged to the debit/credit card account, and your membership would have been cancelled.
Our records show that we’ve received your letter request for a cash back in /////but as it was your first order it was declined. The cash back was only redeemable on your second purchase with Vista print. It also appears that you logged into Vprewards on the ///////which shows that you were aware of your membership. We also would like to highlight the fact that all charges are shown on your debit/credit card statement and you had the option of contacting us to cancel your account.

if you purchase from them in 2010 how did they have the details of a card that expired in 2008?This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Yes, that's what I asked the bank. How come? They are allowed to on a reoccurring transaction. The bank allows it.0

It is now two years since the OP last signed in.
It is possible that your question won't get answered, but the OP did say that they made a purchase in 2008 (three years before the date of the post).0
