Yeah, but if pannone was no a no win no fee arrangement PE are hardly down and out.

If Pannone were on a no win no fee basis then submitting a claim for £4400 of fees was surely fraudulent?

Thing is that is just speculation, nobody but them and PE would know that for sure.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

And I don't think PE will tell us either, they would not like us to know just hoe much their little court adventure really cost them.

    A good point.

One possibility is that the debt is 'real' for the puposes of the claim, but PE may well decline to pay the bill and Pannone may well not chase them for it, and eventually write it off....same effect as no win, no fee.

Having seen how Pannones operate in other areas I doubt they woukld let PE get away with £4400 worth of costs.

Somebody somewhere had to pay for hiring 4 solicitors for an afternoon.

And it wasn't me or Neil.

Pure speculation on my part, but.....

Pannone would have known that they were on a 'loser' from the get go [or else they are sh17 solicitors]....and should have told PE as such. So either PE ignored their advice and decided to waste £4k [why would they do that since it doesn't need £4k worth of solicitor time to take a case to small claims], or they did a deal???

I'd say that PE said to Pannone 'Listen how about we get mob handed and see if we can push this through?? If we win you get all our cases [a nice earner at £4k per case], if we lose we owe you nothing??'.

Solicitors are really suffering in these times of austerity [what a shame] so I'm sure many are getting creative and taking on more 'contingency fee' work for businesses...ie no win, no fee.

Of course I could be completely wrong [in fact I probably am]...

Do a Google search on Oppose Predatory Guardians and it will take you to a site where you can see how Pannones operate.

Any firm of solicitors who take on PPC court claims are, by definition, a bunch of shysters as they must know the true legal position and are just trying to bully their way into earning some fees.

Pannones are no exception to this, in fact probably one of the worst.

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.
