Assuming that it's what the OP has got, I'll do the maths for her.
Cost of the airtime: £10 p.m. (chitter-chatter)
Cost of the phone: (£36-£10)x24=£624
Price of the sim-free phone from Apple: £499
Interest over 2 years: £624-£499=£125
Interest rate: 1.95% p.m.; 25% APR
By your calculations Orange sold me the Iphone 4s at a loss of £127:T
Cost of airtime £15.50 (There is no sim only on the orange website that gives 200 mins unlimited sms and 1gb data, the closest one costs £15.50 for a 12 month term giving 300 mins unlimited sms and 500 data)
Cost of phone (£31 -£15.50)= 15.50x24= £372Never such a thing as a free lunch or phone in most cases!!!0 -

You'll find a lot of critical people on this forum, unfortunately it seems to be that some of the people that have been on here the longest think they have the right to criticise and bully some of the newer members.:mad:0 -
Shame, and the new Apple 5 is supposed to be released in March '12 !
Do you really think Apple is going to retire its latest cash cow after only 5 months ?
Plus Sharp hasn't perfected the manufacturing process for the new screen yet, not to mention any new OS that was going to be in the next product would be in beta by now if it was going on sale in March.0 -

Nevertheless, your deal is good as the actual cost of the handset is about 24x£21=£504. Assuming that Orange buy iphones at the wholesale price, not at the retail price, they still make a small profit, not a loss, even on the handset.0
