so when i go back and mention tesco's error tomorrow to the cs department what is it i actually say to them to get my DTD back? and what will i get DTD on is it the meal deal or just the aocohol? thanks so much for your replys and help means a lot x:j

Going through it - the only thing that springs to mind is the "Gu" puddings, I'm sure I saw them elsewhere in the store as a BoGoF offer !!!

Could that be showing somewhere on your receipt?

That could explain the discount not kicking in.

Have you not read my post ?

I don't think you're due any DTD back.

I think you've purchased a side dish or a dessert that's NOT in the £10 deal

IF that's the case it's YOUR error and NOT Tesco's.

I might be wrong, I hope I am, BUT you are going to have to take back EVERYTHING you've bought so that they can check AND YOU PROVE IT - otherwise you might end up arguing over what Pudding you say you bought (that's IN the offer) and them saying that a receipt entry is a different one that's NOT !

    Not necessarily

I'm sure there are items marked Mains, Sides & Desserts that are NOT part of the £10 deal ...

... just like there are bottles of different wines that aren't included.

Furthermore, as for finding and buying an "excluded" item in the "meal deal section" - what if a customer like yourself had put it there having found it somewhere else in the store, then changed their mind and swapped it for something from that section. NOT Tesco's problem that you bought it :)

First point of call is HO. 0800 505555

If all the items were in the £10 meal deal offer then something hasn't kicked in. Last night I bought the smoked haddock risitto that IS in the deal instore but the system didn't recognise it as such so I got dtd.

The meal deals often glitch. Don't be put off pursuing this.

If you have picked up something that shouldn't be there so they wriggle out if it then get a refund for the items that didn't get reduced. Either way you will not be out of pocket.

    All the best.

If this was me I'd take my receipt back to store and go and check in the meal deal display that everything on your list is stacked there (take a photo if necessary) then go to CS with the list and ask why one of the deals didn't kick in. I don't really think it is necessary to take all the purchases back but just don't use any of them in case you're asked to. If they have stacked the section incorrectly it is still an error on their part. I personally wouldn't mention DTD until they've worked out what you are due back, then ask for it. Good luck!!

3 for £12 still working - both last night and this morning.

As mentioned above, the most expensive pre-discount ones are the best, as you get 25% off the original price, after taking into account 3 for £12.

Personal choice is the Lindemans Sidney Cove Cabernet Shiraz (or whatever it's called) at £6.79 - 6 of those are £24 (3 for £12) less (6.79*6*25% = 10.09) so you pay £13.81 for 6, or £2.30 a bottle. Or in multiples of 6...;)

There is a Merlot at £6.99, that I also got 6 of, original price of £6.99, so actually cheaper still per bottle after all discounts (but only 5p cheaper) and I personally think the Cabernet Shiraz is better, bit it's all a question of taste. At £2.25-£2.30 a bottle, well worth a taste.:o

I think the offer is on for the duration, that it won't be pulled. The issue will be stock availability - once it's gone, it's gone etc.

I sent dh to the tesco near his office yesterday lunchtime. He didn't come back with the bottles I had suggested, simply because the 'better' wines in the 2 for £12/3 for £12 had already gone OOS.

He did back some chianti which should be OK. Might go back in a day or two to see what they've re-stocked.
I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say. :)
